What is the best part of working at the company?
Some of the guys you’ll work with are great, a select few will try to help each other out which is good especially when you’ve got to much work or have hit delays

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is absolutely no support network. Management will not and do not care if you’re struggling, you will be forced to work through your breaks and constantly expected to do 13/14 hour shifts everyday even if you don’t want the overtime

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Extremely toxic, be very careful who you trust and don’t speak to much. Far too many people happy to run and grass to the management, keep yourself to yourself and just go out and do your work. Don’t get involved in the daily drama

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, you will be put under immense pressure. You will receive absolutely no support, and you will be forced to work extra. They only see you as a number and will start threatening you with worse days if you don’t do the work allocated. They don’t listen to the opinions of drivers about where and how you can take the trucks to inappropriate places, and will not take anything you say seriously unless it appeases their agenda.

stressful environment managers promise you all sorts and dont deliver the md is not bad but he doesn't know what's going on and what the area managers for departments promise you and when there is a problem the managers say they cant do anything about it, always want more than one pair of hands can do very stressful underhanded working environment, but do offer lots of training and career advancement courses and health and safety is paramount which is good.

Management make promises and never follow through

Treated awfully by office members with no respect or Thankyou for hard work you put it. 

Expecting you to do jobs on own and with no training ie needles sweeps, chainsaws and diggers. 

Equipment is not maintained to any standard. 

Vans and trucks not up to purpose. 

Have heard higher management belittle the man on the ground that keep the company going. 

Would not recommend to anyone and steer clear. 

A lot better driving jobs out there were you will be valued and not just a number unless you fit in with the clicky groups




Been working on the bins and recycling for over ten years now, that last two with biffa since they took the contract over in Cornwall.

Really so angry how we are treated. Trucks go out loaders short constantly, rounds to big to complete on time, most crews don’t have breaks or lunch and hope to finish on time running around and over packing the trucks. 

Biffa claim they are keen on health and safety but all our management know we break all the rules just to get the job done. If things were done to the book rounds wouldn’t get done by 6pm

Shambles.

The hardest part of my job its like anyone getting up in the morning its very hard.but soon as your up thats new go and enjoy your working day.the people l work with are all good and the managment are the same.all very nice people.it can be a stressful job at times.but its a good jobs aswell.aye really like it.ive been there for nearly eleven years now.and l would like to better myself in the same company.

There motto is teamwork fairness and respect this only comes into place as and when it in there favour I just go in the morning pick up my truck key due my vehicle check leave the yard. Start the day's route this my be up to 3 loads at times.. When you arrive back at the yard fuel up and if the wash bay is Clear we have to clean the truck. Park up for the day and doe daily paperwork thtakthat to

A good hard working team - who enjoy good team work and morale.  A very busy environment but no two days are the same.

Have learned a lot from my experience here. Was sent on a managers course over six sessions, and passed the course - which was endorsed by the institute of leadership and management (ILM).

The management are informative and provide support where necessary.

The morning suck more work added even when you have an easy day there is no management skills at all they don’t have a clue from day to day break downs all the time you can’t holidays when you need them they cut rounds and make other work longer you have been warned take this jobs at your own petrel iv seen drivers that have worked there for over 10 years and just tossed aside

Early mornings collecting rubbish in the form of bin collections, fly tips or litter picking.  

Several interesting courses completed - Asbestos awareness, lantra and lgv.

Average management not all good.

Not a good workplace culture at my depot.

Work is manual and hard.

Its nice being out in the fresh air and driving around Cornwall especially the coastline.

i worked for biffa  for two years and enjoyed every i worked with them only wished i could work with them again. i was a supervisor on a transfer station best job i had my site manager was very good man very help full
