The foremen have zero leadership skills and constantly look for something to discipline the techs for

Toxic, zero leadership. They’ll blame you for things that happened when you were on days off and not even on site

Always watching over shoulder and being micro managed

Great personnel that work at Big Country, very helpful staff and the management team will always answer your questions

No stress, just do your job and no questions asked

The work environment is always positive and the culture is always to promote their employees

Day to day planning and scheduling

Bad place to work, the coal mine is run by incompetent management,and the sub-contractor BC equip, has a high turnover of employees as there is a workforce of millenials who think they know it all. If you have experience you will be smeared by workforce because they are afraid of someone better than them Do yourself a favor,do not work there, a very toxic environment and lots of nepotism..

Overall had a positive experience working here, came into mining fairly new and co-workers and bosses helped make this transition easy. Great wage and benefits, always had good communication regarding flights and bosses checking in to see how things were going. Through my stint was at 3 different mines in different locations, each a bit of a different experience but nothing negative to say. 

It’s not worth it. Foreman’s and management are chosen by who’s drinking buddies with higher ups, have one disagreement with a foreman and they’ll skid you with no chance to explain your side to management. They hire people with little no mining experience and send them into busy mines on their own, basically set up to fail.  The whole process getting to site is a complete gong show.

It's laid back work when u work safety is just lime anywhere u at highly regarded

Just go to work what ever site I'm at

Big Country has changed my career they gave me the opportunity to expand my career into the mining industry. The lead hands have help me develop into the mechanic I am today. There top notch guys that support you any way possible to help you develop your skills with any tools or support equipment needed for the job.

Fast past lots of different gear to work on, it pays well but you are expected to earn it. There is room for growth within the company as well. Judging by the spelling mistakes in the other reviews It is evident why it didn’t work out for those individuals. This is contracting and you are held to a better standard. 

The good..pay. thats it
Almost died in a accident going to work, passing work bus. And hitting a truck on work road. Will skid you if they dont fit into their click. Or laugh at formans jokes. Worked with wielders pretending to be heavy duty mechanics. Long hours, change location with no notice, had to wear same coveralls for days. They had no clean ones
