I cannot say enough about Big Country Raw. It is a brand I was passionate about before I joined and my passion has continued to grow. Sometimes working at an organization you admire from the outside can change your initial perception once you've had a chance to "peek behind the curtain". My experience has only amplified my already positive perception of Big Country Raw. Our leadership exemplifies the values that are important to me: transparency, authenticity, empathy, ambition, drive, and kindness. The level of knowledge and expertise cross functionally is at the top of the game, which results in an incredible product. The saying "if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" has never been truer for me.

The ownership, management and people here are very nice. They seem like a place that truly cares about their employees. 

Be aware, it's a very cold working environment. 

My only issue was the lack of transparency during the hiring process. I was told my hours were 7-5, with shorter Fridays and occasional overtime. 
Once I started, a week in, I was then informed that we work stats - which is pretty much impossible for me due to family obligations. 

Then it was slipped in that some days we start at 5:30 a.m., which again was impossible for me. Some days were well past 5 pm, again, hard for me. 

The hours required need to be transparent and up front during the chat prior to hiring, not after hiring. For some moving their schedule around so much is very difficult. It would have been nice to make a decision without feeling deceived about it.

Big Country Raw has friendly amazing people to work with. Production manager is very people orientated, always thankful and appreciative of the work we do. It is family owned and the owners are very approachable and understanding, they are always willing to listen to suggestions for improving production and the working environment. My career in the meat business spans well over 30 years, and I can truly say with what I have seen that goes into the final products, our little furry friends eat much better than we do!!

Driving in winter making the deliveries arrive on time for the buyers

Close and well behaved, everyone helps each other when needed

Long drive with some heavy lifting of goods

Nothing...people there are ignorant & stuck up...especially the women in the OF (Order Fulfillment)Department 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working in the -25° freezer & building skids 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful & stinky...raw food. Somewhat busy environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mostly in the freezer picking orders

It’s ok, hard work but that’s factory work. Management was not the most helpful some better then others. it was a really crowded place with lots of people working most of the people there treat you like factory employees with is fine but not the place I want to work at

I've  been working here for awhile and  I still enjoy it.  Most of the people are great.  The supervisors are considerate of the employees needs and are usually able to accommodate them. 
The work can be hard and repetitive at times, but overall I enjoy being there. 

Worst place ever. 
Disorganized. Terrible management. Unless you’re related to someone higher up you get treated very poor . Dishonest management. Expectations are unrealistic. Lead hands are useless. STAY AWAY!!!

Horribly disorganized, some rules apply to some people and not to others (management). Very poor morale in the room, and a manager that just doesn’t care to help when behind in work, and also doesn’t take any complaints seriously. 

Happy to work for such a great company.  The pay is good and the people are great.  Lots of perks as well.  Management is friendly and easy to get along with.
