Big O Tires

Worked at front taking customer orders. Then mounted and dismounted customers tires in the shop.  when it was  slow i would make work. it got really slow. So eventually they sent me into the back yard where all the used tires were and got me to organize there tires. so i would have something to do. I got laid off, they told me it was because it was to slow. but they told work bc a whole different story said i wasn't working out in the front. It was hard for me to understand why they did that because i worked really hard and i made the shop look really clean. But i think they needed someone who was able to stand around when it was slow instead  of clean. I'm not sure what it was that i did wrong. I am a hard worker i was taught when it is slow you make work. You don't just stand around. But i guess when you are working up front its a different story.

Honestly being a woman in the trade is hard but being told I wasn't doing enough when I was working harder and just as fast as the guys there was incredibly defeating. I'm used to the dirty jokes and whatnot when working with men but these guys took it too far. When i was interviewed I was told I would get paid more and ended up getting way less. I was supposed to be an apprentice but they wouldn't do any of the paperwork until they fired me for not being man enough for the job. Worst place to work.

You deal with customers vehicles making sure tire and wheels are in decent shape. Also checking to see if theirs any mechanical issues.

I learned a lot about mechanical parts in vehicles. Tire/wheel Maintenance.

Management is okay but if you mess up be prepared to get berated sometimes it's deserved sometimes it's just nonsense and out of your control.

Teamwork is key if you can't get along with at least half the crew just start looking for a new job because your gonna be getting treated like garbage.

Bad schedules.

Team can be amazing and working a blast but once you mess up it's done.


I miss the Cru. B/c they are good people. And also the General Manager is very nice guy. But it's hard work with owner. B/c he Stoles my Hours, and he don't know about the Automotive Mecanic So they give you hard time every day. You Can't Focus in your Job, He Controlled you Each time by Camera the all day. And he Speak with you with out Respect. And So many things, I don't won't to Recommended people work there. Maybe if you don't have a chance to do noting I don't Know.

There wasn't one part of the job that was good

When the owner came in the place had to be spotless even if costumers where there he came first

The environment sucked, and there was no culture

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful tiring and I started drinking again

Get to work early to open up the shop, and prepare tools and tires for the day ahead. Management and communication can be a bit of a challenge on busy days and seasons but the workers are experienced and very adaptive and blazing fast. Love working with the guys, great team. On busy seasons there are lots of work and not a whole lot of time to take a break. 

Culture is super easy going. Lots of perks , lunches bought frequently on Fridays . Management super supportive and always there for you, especially if you need time off. Very understanding and promotes from within. Team members always eager to help out. A very professional shop that knows how to have fun . No pressure .

I had learned and acquired skills I had not previously possessed, such as tire mounting. Learned more ways to mount a tire, as well as tricks of the trade to balancing. Also they had taught me how to properly align wheels.

great bunch of guys learned lots of cool tricks for getting tricky tires on. lots of customer interaction. Unfortunately I got injured before the busy season started and I had to quit.

Is not a really a fun company to work for no proper training they expect you but you should know what you're doing right away you make a mistake you get punished for it you asked for help you get punished for it can be a very stressful company to work for
