I've worked in the smaller clinics as well as a large clinic, both have their advantages.   

In the small clinics you feel more pressure.  You are it!  Patients absorb everything you say. You are their guide in their journey to biologics.  They arrive not knowing what to expect.  They are nervous.  It's up to me to make them feel safe.  I welcome them to the clinic and show them around, always smiling.  They are surprised  and appreciative of the decor and comfortable seating.  

Once they are settled,  I tell them how the infusion/injection process will go. I tell them how long they can expect to be there,  We review the biologic they are to receive and I answer their questions.  By the time they are done, they fell more at ease.  

When they return for subsequent visits they are relaxed.  As time goes by, we've established  a bond.   

The relationship created in a small clinic is much closer than the larger clinics.  There are not as many patients and you have more time to spend with them.  You learn more about them, their families, their job etc.  They get to know the other patients and often return with the same people. 

The larger clinics have advantages too.  I use the same process in both settings.  I don't feel as much pressure in a larger clinic as I am working with a team.   If I have difficulty with starting an IV I have a teammate who can try for me.  I also have someone to talk to if I or my patient has an issue or question.    There's always another nurse  available if needed.  

Forming a bond with patients in the larger clinics happen as well, it just takes a little longer to establish.

I enjoy my job.  I am thankful for the team of wonderful nurses I work with.  They all go above and beyond when dealing with our patients. I am proud of them!

I enjoy our patients, They are so appreciative of our work.  It's great to hear/see people go from being so sick back to healthy individuals who can enjoy their lives.  

Our head office staff are always there when we need them.  Susan has been my "go to girl" forever!  She's awesome!  Recently we've had some changes with new staff and they are proving to be a good bunch.  Krista in supplies is also awesome!!  She always has an answer for me or knows where to get whatever I need.

The hardest part of my job, unfortunately, is the same as at the hospital. When a patient dies.  It's heartbreaking.

Having spent over four years working in the finance and accounting department, I witnessed a noticeable downward shift in the overall employee experience and workplace culture.
​While the core business model remains stable, internal operational changes have impacted staff morale. There has been a clear reduction in compensation value, specifically regarding health benefits. The organization transitioned to a less functional health insurance provider, which resulted in reduced overall coverage and significantly higher out-of-pocket costs for families. Furthermore, traditional employee perks, such as corporate retreats, were entirely eliminated.
​Internal communication from leadership frequently feels one-sided. Corporate slogans are heavily used to encourage the team, but they do not align with the operational decisions being made on the ground. A clear example of this was the abrupt implementation of a mandatory return-to-office policy. Despite staff successfully meeting objectives while working remotely, this top-down mandate was handed down with minimal notice and little regard for employee feedback. This policy also created an uneven standard, as certain staff members were exempt based entirely on their geographic location while local employees were required to commute.
​Prospective job seekers should look beyond the company's external accolades. The internal environment has become increasingly bureaucratic, and the corporate focus appears to have shifted toward public optics rather than practical support, administrative efficiency, and long-term staff retention.

The Recourse Centre division needs revision. Especially in regards to work duties/roles and amount of staff. This division is made up of about 20-25 people (supervisor lead roles not included). The staff is tasked almost entirely all the scheduling and admin work. 

More staff is needed considering the amount of clinic and patients. We are confronted with complaints from patient, clinic, and patient support programs on a regular basis. It is impossible to keep on top of the amount of admin work, when we have to handle patient incoming calls. 

The company should look at changing the amount of duties this division is tasked with. The current state of this section of the company is a fast-paced, hectic, and stressful environment. 

The larger clinics (open 4-5 days a week) should have a on-site office administrative assistant. That individual should be responsible for patient physical chart maintenance, sanitation and cleaning preparation, assistance with medication storage, and tasked with scheduling during clinic hours. That way the resource division can focus of more of online administrative work. 

If not they really need to hire more staff. need a team of 30-50 people per team (not including supervisor lead roles). 



This is truly one of the worst companies I've ever worked for. Local pharmacy leader is absolutely incompetent, a typical bully who is rarely around and even more rarely able to provide direction. HR does not address issues raised by staff and does one better by actually getting rid of excellent leaders who actually care about their staff. Senior management at BioScript is even more laughable. It's a collection of old college buddies who seem more interested in drinking and getting stoned than actually taking care of the business. This is one incredibly dysfunctional company. Workload is historically out of control, leadership is absent or terrible and the company culture is a disaster. The moves this company made during the pandemic were devoid of thought and seemed to heavily favour some staff and not others. Staff were put in danger during this time but rest assured the managers and senior managers were all tucked away safely in their homes. Being unemployed would literally be better/safer than working for this company. Run if anyone approaches you for a job here.

I have worked with Coverdale for nearly 6 years as a clinic nurse, previously worked in surgery.  I have learned a great deal about biologics, customer service, business and some management skills too.  My typical clinic day involves infusions/injections, answering patient questions, doing case management for other clinic patients, and patient assessments.

I enjoy that patients want to be at the clinic.  They are excited to see you, relax, get their medication, and so appreciative of your help and time.  I love that clinic staff are encouraged to provide a higher level of care to patients, such as good case management; going that extra mile for them.  We make them comfortable, take extra time for those that need it, make them coffee and get to know them the way I never had time to in hospital.  

My co-workers are excellent, fun to work with.  Head Office and management are great, it's really a good team.  Everyone is positive, eager to help, and works together well, and initiative is appreciated.

The best part of the job is the people I work with.

Your experience working within the patient support programs will vary greatly depending on the team. The first program I was hired for was absolutely flawless. I could not find any faults, except it was slow at times. I loved my managers and team, and saw myself un that position for many years to come. Unfortunately, the program became overstaffed though. As a result, employees were transferred to other programs. The new program I have been placed on has been terrible! While the position is fairly straight forward, they do not provide proper training or resources. The team is very understaffed foe the amount of work. When can’t keep up with the workload they blame it on you. Then they berate you for everything you do, and make up lies. I scheduled a meeting with my human resources representative. Dispute expressing my concerns and providing evidence, they would not do anything. I want to stay within this division of the company but there are no postings i am “ eligible“ since I haven't been with that part of the division for a year. Now I have to move back to another division since I can no longer barely with the harassment from my management team. I wanted to grow within the company, now I will be back where I started.

A typical day at BioScript is anything but typical. BioScript is truly a pharmacy that puts the patient first. Our patient base is made up of some of the most complex patients and our staff do the very best to ensure our patients get the best possible care. Though not your typical pharmacy setting, our patients can expect the best care from the best team. Our pharmacy management team is incredibly proactive, responsive to concerns, and they work hard to support us so we can support our patients. Our pharmacy team is diverse, inclusive, and always so warm and welcoming. Everyone works together to ensure the patients’ needs are met and we do it while smiling and sharing a laugh. The most enjoyable part of my job is definitely the people I work with. They’re a cohesive group of kind, friendly individuals and everyone is so unique, it’s the best team!

I have worked for Bioscript for the last 1.5 years and I have found that one of the best aspects is the team I work with. I feel like there is good open communication between myself and other staff, as well as with the team leaders. The work is rewarding because I know it makes a big difference in the lives of my patients. Managing complex chronic conditions is a challenge, and the feedback I get from patients is that they really appreciate the time I can spend with them.

Challenges I have encountered are adapting to mostly phone based patient interactions, as well as managing a caseload of patients instead of the typical refills and walkins of a regular community pharmacy. It can also be a challenge to handle workload when people take time off. Since the environment is so specialized there aren’t people you can just get to cover your work, it just gets distributed among the others still working. This can feel overwhelming at times when we are already busy.

I had extremely high hopes when coming into this company but was extremely disappointed from day 1. Off the bat I was not supplied with the supplies needed to complete my job and was told to just hang out and had minimal communication the rest of the day unless I reached out. Management had no time to answer questions or offer support. I agree with other reviews  of management being made up of friends from within the company and it causes a lot of issues when you have no where to turn with concerns because it’s all a friend group. Direct manager was not capable of leading a team and had a very obvious fear of someone outshining them which lead to them being toxic towards team members.  Benefits we’re very good and compensation was okay but I the work environment and lack of trust in employees abilities made no amount of pay or benefits worth it. 

This position has provided the best work life balance for me since I begain practicing - Mon-Fri 9-5, no weekends or holidays! The workload is fairly heavy, but patient relations are much more positive here (compared to retail) as the pharmacy is not open to the general public, and we focus on a small subset of specialty drugs. Love my team, and I feel well supported by my managers. This is the job for you if you enjoy patient counselling and are looking for work life balance. :) Company culture is inclusive and promotes employee wellness. Company owners are quite involved and will visit, which is nice. Compensation/bonus/raise is a very structured process, and transparent (which I appreciate!) - based on individual, location and overall company performance
