Bird Stairs

The Job was satisfying I know 80% of the contractors coming into the store, I helped them with professionalism and good work ethic. I often looked for solutions and recommendations.
Alway a hour to half an hour early to work. 
Always tried to be positive demeanour. Tried to have a good Working relationship with everyone. I am a veteran and have PTSD. I worked with a Team mentality
Unfortunately there is one individual that often remarked on Homosexuals, Women and New comers to Canada. 
This rhetoric grinded on my work performance everyday.
Until one day I gave my two weeks notice, the manager gave me ROE and a months wage….
Bird Stairs is a a fantastic company but it needs to concentrate on building solid reliable customer base and less on ingrown “Big Boys Club” 

Only thing needed to succeed is to show up, work ethic is not required but an asset. Attendance is mandatory, company reduced paid sick days after covid restrictions began to lift and after our local management which was the back bone of our branch for years was let go with no warning or reasoning right before inventory. Was let go shortly after for going on a medical leave as well, watch your back here.  

Most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They truly are a family at the Dartmouth plumbing & electrical branch. Show up to work and give it your all and you will do just fine. It's not a place for slackers, take pride in your work, it's not easy but it's good work. Management is incredibly, they care about you and will be good to you as long as you do your part. 

Good thing about the company was that you were left to do your own thing. The frustrating part was price inconsistencies and stock levels were left to run out before ordering unless they were sold on a daily basis. So on many occasions, customers would come in and we would have no stock

I walked into Bird Stairs with minimal knowledge of the construction industry after almost 6 years I have built a wealth of knowledge.  I have learned about shingles, torch on roofing, concrete finishing and various types of insulations and purposes.

Work place is super toxic, management are very unprofessional and don't take employees considerations. No effort to be a better work place. Unrealistic work expectations. 

loved the day to day customer service and also the personal relationships that were made while I was working there. They are very good people and have a great crew to work with and for

Interacting with customers in person, behind the counter or at their office or jobsite.  Freedom to deal with pricing based on expected base margins.  A fair amount of autonomy.

You work hard you get push aside but if you kiss butt  you go places. This company certainly teats you like a number and there is no room to advance as they do what they want to do leading to a high turnover.

Great place to work ,friendly co workers .
Great management ,good opportunity for advancement . 
long standing company in the construction industry .
I would go back to work there in a heart beat!
