The company is very disorganized, management does not cleary communicate very well to staff about changes. When people are away for any reason, it is always a last minute struggle with no planning in place. They do not give raises, you have to hassel management and even then they say no to many people. The scheduling is good, if you need time you can take it. The pay is barely good, you have to get a good starting wage because they won't give you much more. Some staff are great but good people often leave because of pay or management. The management does not trust their staff, they've  removed the discotas a way to punyise staff before. I'd recommend working there but not long term, just use it as a place to learn new skills and move on. 

refuses to give out raises to the people who deserve them, even a supervisor who’s still stuck at min wage won’t even get a raise(someone who worked for them for 6 YEARS got refused a raise). Owners only care about themselves and MONEY, will doubt your skills even if you have plenty of years of said skill. No OT they’ll have a hissy fit if you try, only managers/supervisors get free food the rest of the staff get 25% off. Had so much potential but are just digging their own grave. 

Baking department is expected to be highly skilled/trained and produce exceptional quality products, while being paid the same as the part time highschool student that's washing the dishes. Then if you make a small mistake you're shamed in a group chat, or if you're not well liked within the team they'll talk bad about you in another room. On the other hand, if you do an incredible job or are lucky enough to create a new product you get no positive response at all.

They don’t have enough people to work. And it’s overworking for you. They don’t recognize your job. If you go there you can see different employees almost every day. 
If you work 8h they cut 30 min from you payroll. We know it’s mandatory from the law in Canada you take 30 min break, but the problem is because they don’t have enough people to work and no one can’t cover your. DO NOT LOSE YOUR TIME WORK THERE. Apply for another restaurant. 

 had the pleasure of working at Blacksmith Bakery for a year, and it was an amazing experience! The management is wonderful—very supportive and always approachable. They were incredibly flexible with schedules, which made balancing work and personal life so much easier. The team environment is friendly and collaborative, and I always felt valued. 

All the owners care about is making as much money as they can. Give no respect to their employees or customers. Never listen to feedback because they are entitled and think they do no wrong. Don’t work here if you want to keep your sanity. 

 High turn over due to low salary, low staff during busy hours, extreme micromanagement, staff performs barista, bartender, cashier and waiter with low salary.  No training provided. No recognition. Zero communication. 

you need to have good people skills as you’ll have to talk to many regulars if you work front of house. i made lots of friends and everyone is very friendly. management can sometimes be unreasonable. 

Great team to work with! Learned lots and loved the environment. Very fast paced and busy! Team and managers were always super supportive! I loved getting to know the regular customers!

Super chill job, being a barista is fun (although harder than it looks). Lots of regulars so its nice to see friendly faces around. Although I wish the staff discount was a little more generous.
