Start up, plan my day, and what my goal is going to be for the day. Just to have fun moving dirt around, and loading trucks, watching my material disappear from stock gives me an incentive to do more.
Set sites up a little different to see if  that's a better way of doing work. The people I work with are friendly and helpful when I have a problem. The hardest part is sometimes a person has to put long hours in a short period of time. The end of a day and seeing and enjoying what I accomplish for that day whether it be small or large.

8 or 9 months of the year, shifts are 12-16 hours a day, 6 days a week. The pay is below industry standard, but they make up for it with the amount of hours that you put it. There is really no set parameters as to which manager has control over what which leads to a lot of in-fighting and "stepped on toes". Overall, the non-management staff is wonderful. Although it is for the most part replaced every year, Blue Grass somehow manages to hire decent people. This is the reason I have stayed as long as I have.

This is a fast paced work environment where priorities can change on the spur of the moment, you need to be adaptable and flexible regarding change.  Serious about customer service, you need to be friendly, approachable and willing to help out.  The staff here make great co-workers, super people with a shared interest in many aspects of horticulture, the combined knowledge of the staff is awesome.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Drive, deliver, water and maintain the truck.

Was on-call for plowing in the winter.  Broken equipment, micro-managing dispatcher, no overtime just banked time in lieu.  A great place to lose your commercial driving license if you get pulled over in a D.O.T. stop and your garbage can on wheels fails.  

A longtime employee said 'why even bother?' when I started pretripping my pathetic excuse for a truck.

- shipped orders to customers location
- kept the work area clean 
- answered phone calls
- filled out paper work
- learned codes for products

past experience has been limited to working very hard while being under extreme pressure and deadlines. great place to build skill and work many hours. 12 hours a day 6 days a week

First of all they want you work till you drop and no overtime pay. The people you work with are uneducated and love to talk about other colleges behind there. If you can do better do better if not god bless you.

management cares, you get paid, you don't get overworked all the time, there is a way to progress.

communication seems to be lacking sometimes but not all the time
