Blue Mountain Resorts

The beginning of shift is usually a brief meeting with the supervisor,  to update duties as regards special events/objectives for the day/ week-end activities in the over-all resort or particular work area.A computer print-out with specific details of activities,locations,and times is given.
Any special precautions are made aware to the worker(s).
 Learning about the resort, its client group profiles (more than one major organisation may be our guests for a few days) knowing these details, makes fulfilling their needs, and requirements, easier for us to do our jobs effectively when interracting with them, or the genral public when they request our assistance, for such details. 
The managament is usually specific, to the point, effective in providing assistance, and support for the task at hand, when necessary.
Co-workers are agreeable, friendly, and effective.
Peak activity times can be demanding, for perhaps, up to an hour, sometimes more.
A change in co-worker location of work assignment can be necessary, and, dutifully requires to apply a little second wind, and, stamina to the situation.This is oftentimes anticipated, and, one prepares oneself for such requirement psychologically.
Blue Montain Resorts, and its varied landscapes are breathtaking in its natural beauty, ideal even temperamental weather conditions simply makes it exhilirating ...  

I have enjoyed working at Blue as a part of the House keeping staff. I will admit it's not for everyone. But I enjoy the challenge of cleaning these beautiful spacious condos and the people I work with make my day enjoyable. We have great supervisors that are there to help make the day run as smoothly as possible making sure that guests are happy and that the workers are doing ok. 
sometimes the workload we are given dosen't seem realistic to what I see other areas are given, but I give it my all and try to complete what I am given. Some days the rooms can be so bad that there is no way it'll get done, and that's when the supervisors jump in and find help so we get it all done.
Overall though, I have enjoyed all the benefits and activities of appreciation that blue mountain holds for their staff multiple times a year.

Working at blue mountain for 13+ years, I have held several job titles, sometimes multiple at one time. Starting as a Starbucks Barista then becoming a ski instructor, bike attendant, bike mechanic, Ropes attendant, Segway tour guide, Segway team lead, Agora Team Lead, Ground Maintenance Worker, Snow School Supervisor, Snow School Assistant Manager, and current Recruiter. I have worked with many inspiring, fair leaders and given every opportunity to succeed and grow. The people are one of the best parts as every one is there for the same purpose. One of the challenging parts of the roles is asking the right question to the right person. There are many layers to the operations and sometimes to get things done quickly and correctly means creating a relationship first.

As a shuttle driver, I had daily vehicle inspections to preform, and report to my manager.  I drove a 21 passenger bus around there resort taking guest to and from their activities. 
My manager was excellent, schedules and bus assignments were posted weeks in advance in the busy season. She was fair, and tried to be flexible when possible. 
My co workers, so were excellent and some were good. I feel my co workers were not just in the department that I worked. We dealt with other departments, such as maintenance, housekeeping, and Guest Services. 

The hardest part of my job, would be understanding people with a foreign accent. When they couldn't explain clearly where they needed to go. 

I always enjoy the interaction of people, and I truly enjoy driving.

The Tube Park is fun to operate. You get lots of guest interactions there. So far no issues but employees slacking is very common due to the low number of guests who visit the attraction during the school day and night.

Holidays are when the attraction gets very busy, however, the lineup to the hut can and will get extremely busy a bit after the Tube Park opens. 

The best parts are riding down the lanes with a tube when you have to make the lanes smooth so nobody really gets stuck and guest interactions. You interact with guests every day at the Tube Park.

Great place to work.  Fun atmosphere because it is a resort and people are there to have fun. I started out as a Lift Operator and was doing a great job,  so they promoted me to Team Lead, and then Supervisor,  but I just recently stepped down from the 'management' positions because I enjoy being a regular Lift Operator much better, because you just get to mingle with the customer more and be more involved in the Customer relations part rather than Supervising employees, and doing office and administration work.

The management for the Security department will throw you under the bus at every chance they get. They refuse to stand up for their employees yet talk a big game about the safety. The security position is underpaid and overworked for what is required. The various times of calls that would be attended is insane for how little the pay is in comparison. The overall leadership from supervisors is very helpful. Anything above the supervisor is so disappointing and unhelpful.

Blue Mountain can be a fun place to work, and at times i have loved my job. 

The resort is mismanaged, hours in some departments are fewer than promised, They are really focused on saving money and doing so through company labor. 

The process of promotion at blue mountain can be extremely biased, you may be overlooked for a supervisors friend, or to fit a biased agenda. 

some perks come with the job, but blue mountain feels like the type of place where they do not care about there employees.

The work environment is just amazing and people from all over the world work there

Work and also having fun and getting to meet so many people

Colleagues and lower-to-middle-level management were great fun and easy to get along with. 
It was great to be of service to guests and colleagues, but I felt the experience was overshadowed by extremely difficult and fussy guests who would get nasty and make my colleagues cry.  Some standard practices and values were questionable, but overall a pretty reasonable place to work.
