I am a recent ex-employee of boardwalk, and I can tell you one thing for certain, I never felt so much regret for not paying attention or listening to what people had to say about this company for the beginning. To start, all management cares about are their profits and rentals, the way they are portrayed to their higher-ups and their bonus. So much so they are willing to step on peoples necks for it. I have been thrown under the bus by all of my fellow co-workers on a weekly basis, DON'T TRUST ANYONE! I can't tell you how many times i've told somebody something out of confidence and confidentiality to have them turn straight around and run to their "leaders" as if they were going to receive a metal or piece of cheese, and don't even think about trying to fit in with their "crew" if your white forget it, to them anyone with half a brain and experience in carpentry or renovations  under their belt is a  immediate threat because every filipino maintenance worker A.K.A "handyman/cleaner" that I've met through this company is a hack job who deserve to have their tinker hammers taken away from them and thrown in the trash. But, for Boardwalk that is what they want, someone who is willing to jump however high, always say YES,YES, YES! and knows how to lick em' good. so if you think your going to accomplish anything by bringing your skills and assets to this company and make a difference you can throw that straight out the window as soon as you join this company. The cleaners in each building pretty much act like they run the show even if they can't tell you what a screwdriver is and if you don't abide to their ways then your casted out by everyone in the building and then begins the endless talks in amongst their Filipino crew regarding you and there is not a thing you can do about it (unless you can understand them)
On call is a JOKE. instead of being on call for your site only, your on rotation 3 times or more a month for all sites in your area which in my case was 8 buildings. The micromanaging in this company is pathetic to say the least. They love to use the words leadership and love but they couldn't be any further from the truth its a backstabbing cult where you will literally lose your dignity and be embarrassed to even associate yourself with this company. I highly recommend taking this as a warning and stay as far away as possible because they don't deserve your time nor not skills.

Very bad management in the Edmonton area. I've worked in several different areas within the Edmonton region and we always had the fear that you'll say something wrong or do something wrong. There is no forgiveness, they just get rid of you. I've seen so many good people come and go from this company, no wonder they're always advertising. Beneath the management level the staff are quite pleasant and have a fun culture. Overall I'd look for other positions and use this as a last resort.

I have worked here for over 10 years and for most of it, I had loved my job and the company. However I have been punished by suspension, loss of pay and written up without valid reasons or proof. My salary was decreased by $1000 a month for no valid reason. I have applied for advancement and was denied by my leader. It is a secure job but I would recommend looking for something else. Given my review, these incidents have pushed me and motivated me to better my career and look for another job with a different company.

It a very  good  company  end  it was  a pleasure  to be part of that  team

the truth. There is no or no stress since we always work as a group and we always help each other.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
the environment is very good. It feels like family, it's actually family because you spend all the time with them when we become family.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Nice  end good  helping  people  end  relaxing

Entering my 6th year with the company, lived in a boardwalk suite for 5 of those 6 years. Great rent discounts for employees. As a CRM and CCM I received good training, compensation and advancement opportunities. Times can get stressful (no more than any other job) but you always have support to resolve anything that may come up. In my time here the pay scales have been regularly reviewed and adjusted to keep up with industry standards over the years. Annual pay increases and profit shares available with good performance.

Management is a joke, very unprofessional and uneducated in their roles. Your wage is greatly unjustified with all the work they place on you. Job security is a big thing, Over the years I have seen many excellent employees get dismissed for questioning the role of their "leader", When you do that, then you become a immediate threat so they will find any reason to get rid of you. If you are obedient, seek no room for advancement, and love kissing *** then this place isn't so bad.

Colleagues and Leaders are wonderful and supportive

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Residents can sometimes be demanding, but otherwise, support from leaders and colleagues takes away all the stress away.

 My reviews were good but in the end I was always last. you have to work really hard.  there is not enough time in the work day to get your work done. it is go go go. there is no team boardwalk. you have no time for your family at the end of the day

I have been working in many companies but this is one of the worst. Worst management ever. They don't know how to treat tenants no even employees. Won't be back never in my life. You get hire with several duties but when you are  working everything is different and you have to do a lot things that you don't suppose to do.

They make unexpected changes but still expect you to do all the work of two people. My supervisor hardly ever came around. She said it was because I ran it so well. Well if I ran it so well why did I get demoted. But expected to do her work and money for less pay.
