I recently had the opportunity to work at XYZ Company, and my experience was truly remarkable. From day one, the company's commitment to fostering a positive work culture was evident. I had never heard of bubble tea before I got called for the interview. The managers/owners at the time were amazing, I got along very well with them. They were accommodating and very sympathetic. I got paid less when I first started (under minimum). I was in a bad spot financially at that time so I took whatever i could get! I did ask for a raise closer to the time I ended up leaving and was told it needed to be approved by the franchise owner (which never ended up happening because I found a better paying job and had moved away from the area). It was a very fast paced environment being next to the stadium every concert came by us and we'd be packed for the majority of the night! Everyone was trained on everything there so it made working easier if you wanted a break from making drinks or wanted to clean up to catch your breath. Co-workers were great and always up for a good time! Managers were always ready to hop into action and give a helping hand when it was busy. Sad I had to go because loved the managers but they left shortly after as well so it worked out in the end. 

Boba boy has an extreme friendly enviroment. The staff is amazing to work with and you meet some amazing people while you're there. The job itself can feel like you're constantly being over worked. When I first started, my pay was around $8/h which compared to the mini wage at the time, it did not seem fair. The boss told me it would go up but it took 8 months until my pay even reached close to mini wage. Highest I got paid was $13.5/h. Also, the job requires you to be able to work 1-3hs overtime which can seen like nonsense when you're working a closing shift which allows you to end the shift off around 2-3am. Plus, you constantly get blamed for things you didn't do just because the boss was having an off day or his dad was not liking the way you perform tasks. Overall, prepare for the worse, the only good thing out of this is the friends you make.

I thought Boba boy would be fun, its a cool environment, they have fancy drinks and the boss was super chill. I decided to apply because I saw a sign outside the door, so I applied through email and got a call the next day asking me if I could work. I jumped at the opportunity because I thought I would have a blast. And I did. Boba Boy was the most fun job ever. You got to make drinks and talk to customers, why wouldn't you want to work here. Because of the pay. I was informed that i would be working for $8/ hour cash. I was distraught at the sound of this. This made my working experience terrible. Even though I had fun doing the tasks in the job, I couldn't help but feel like I was being cheated, exploited etc.

One person per shift in a busy boba tea house plus cleaning as id you’re closing the store at the end of your shift even though you’re not closing. Be prepared to deal with cooking tapioca, making tea, taking orders, making drinks and making waffles all by yourself! Sometimes even doing that all at the same time. Honestly, one of my most horrible experiences because the manager will call your phone in the morning in a day you’re not working just because you left the sink wet or the syrups weren’t fill up enough.

I worked here in high school with people I knew so it was fun at the time, making bubble tea is easy to learn and we enjoyed making the drinks. I liked the job but the pay was way too low. They paid $8 an hour (cash) and this was back when the minimum wage was $11 or something like that. There was no room to grow in terms of salary or anything like that. Made maybe $2 or $3 in tips as they were pooled and no one really tips bubble tea workers.

The interview process is quick but deceiving. The management teaches you everything on your first day and expects you to be knowledgeable enough on the next day. They also leave you all by yourself; you'll be the cook, cleaner, cashier, and tearista. They would also often ask you to extend your shift on the spot and get annoyed when you say no. 

The management was very unprofessional and poor. The store was always busy but also always understaffed. They teach you everything within a single day and expect you to have everything memorized by the second day.

Pay is bare minimum. Work is easy, could be boring at times. However, paycheque is often VERY, I mean VERY delayed where at one point you would wonder did it get dumped in the bin. Otherwise, free drinks, chill-single person working environment.

This was an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on work experience as an engineering co-op student. Most mechanics really tried to teach us and provide learning opportunities to students who genuinely wanted to learn.
