Boler Mountain

Where do I start, I was super excited to work at Boler, being and avid skier I thought what better place to work right?

A typical day at work consists of freezing your butt off, not being allowed to sit and when you're there for 8-11 hours a day, It's very strenuous when it's rather cold outside.

Also I found myself working way more than I was skiing which was sort of a bummer, I mean you get a seasons pass for $20 (if you're working full time, $100 if you're part time) but It felt like I rarely got to use it, not that Boler is the greatest hill anyway, but its close.

You get a staff discount in the chalet which is nice, and free hot chocolate (all this only when you're working).

The people I worked with ie. other seasonal's were awesome, made a lot of new friends.

Supervisor's were mediocre, I swear they just hired random older people who can't get a job anywhere else.
All they did was complain, and do nothing.

Most enjoyable part of the job was honestly working with co-workers and meeting tons of new people everyday, there are some people you meet who are just trying to ruin your day, but what can you do right.

Supervisors dont care about us, customers are allowed to treat us however they like with no repercussions.  If you work here you are entirely unsupported and left alone to fend for yourself. Which means you'll deal with all kinds of issues on your own with no training or support. I highly recommend not working here if you struggle with any kind of mental health. You'll get so mentally abused, it isnt even funny, and the higher ups DO NOT care. 

- arrive and go over a check list and fix what is needed, then I would aid skiers on and off the ski lift
- I have learned how to go over a check list and correct what is needed
- The management was amicable and willing to help out whenever you needed a hand
- My fellow coworkers were cooperative and helpful
- The hardest part of the job was keeping warm while working outside in the cold
- The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the skiers and fellow employees

The work environment at Boler Mountain is excellent. Every instructor is very friendly and welcoming. We all teach ski lessons either in a group or alone. The best part of the job is working with a variety of people and knowing that you helped them learn something new. Boler is a great place to work due to an excellent management team and flexible hours.

Being paid to snowboard is a bonus on top of the sense of accomplishment that accompanies a successful lesson. Instructors come in all ages and demographics but all get along together as a big team.

I worked here one winter when I was in high school. I enjoyed the job itself for the most part, it was mostly fun, although it could get extremely cold no matter what precautions I took. The work culture was nothing special but pretty casual and relaxed which I enjoyed. 

Super rewarding under great leadership. This organization wants the best for everybody and accommodates their student staff. They encouraged developing individual skill as well as community involvement. Definitely recommend working or volunteering here.

The staff are all around great people. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Working hours are fairly flexible, however, you are pretty much required to work weekends. Other than that, great place to work.

Working at Boler Mountain was a great summer job where I improved my skills in various departments. I enjoyed the atmosphere of working outside and interacting with customers.

During my time at Boler Mountain, I had to regularly use my problem-solving skills, I had to file consent forms and ensure that they were signed properly. As well, I had to answer phone calls and answer questions and book ski/snowboard lessons.
