I worked here for over a year without having the safety training I needed to be on site.  I brought this up on many occasions without action.  This was the most disorganized job that I have ever worked on.  No one cared about the quality of their work.  Or just didn’t have the capacity to complete quality work. This job made me realize how much I hate plumbing. After 13 years in the trade,  I decided to quit plumbing. And after 35 years in Alberta, I have left the province. 

Alberta healthcare’s neglect and wcb’s denial of claims has made it unsafe to work in the trades. For this reason I would not recommend that any young people join the trades. 

Go to school for computers, your health is the most important thing in life. The trades should be a last resort for the mentally deficient.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management treats employees well, worked with a lot of good tradesmen over the 16 years


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not much stress. The people I have worked with are all easy going. 


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pretty relaxed. Work hard and get the job done. Safely 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. Makes the day go bye fast

Every job is not without its faults, but the people are good, and they take care of their workers. Power tools are supplied, problem solving is a mutual effort and the Site Supervisors do their best to help come up with a solution should a problem arise.
They provide any needed course training to ensure their field workers are educated and prepared.

Botting and Associates is a great place to learn your skills in industrial construction applications. I enjoyed my time with the crew and appreciate the opportunity for getting my journeyman's certification while employed.

typical day would consist of installing copper pipe and other plumbing things.. worked with a journeyman plumber and learned everything I could from them and couldn't be happier with the training

Good employer, provides regular full time work with benefits and rrsp contributions.  They offered perks such as work gloves etc.  Great group of people and opportunity to learn both plumbing and sheet metal if desired.

I have worked for Botting and Associates for many years. I started out as an apprentice and over the years attained my journeyman certificate. I had a couple apprentices working under my direction at the end of my time with the company.

I would love to work for botting and associates again. When I was with them they treated me with respect and always wanted the crew to be successful and happy.

definitely a lot of worse places out there to work, lots of good people in this company, sometimes they can stick you on one specific task in the trade for a while which makes its difficult to learn new things if you are an apprentice

I have been glad to be part of the team, I have felt that I can talk with not issues.
Bosses don't have problem to understand when the worker has to solve difficulty in your family and give time to solve those.
