A typical day at work consists of helping customers with prices, and/or stating promotions of the day. I learned that customers like to be catered to at a very fast rate, therefore, managing their needs needs to be efficient and smooth. The manager is very nice and lenient, and listened to the co-workers with their needs. For an example, the manager always keeps her employees' schedules in mind and tries her best to fit the schedules to the employees' best interest. My co-workers are extremely nice and helpful, especially because I'm new, they have taught me how to do certain things such as greet customers, punch in and punch out, locate certain items, and answer phones. The hardest part of the job would be staying on foot constantly, but it is definitely rewarding when it comes to making others smile because of my helpfulness when it comes to product reviews of Bowring's.

This is the first retail job I have had since I was a teenager (many years ago).  A typical day at work involved helping customers with the purchase of décor and gift items, running them through the register, doing returns, stocking the store, cleaning, opening and closing the store doing bank deposits at the end of the day etc.  The most difficult part of the job was the heavy lifting of furniture, climbing 12 foot ladders to hang artwork and heavy mirrors, navigating an overflowing stock room for customer requests, working long hours for minimum wages with little or no appreciation from management.  The schedules were often changed with little notice and the average work week was about 15-20 hours except for management.  I felt it was a little bit of a "sweat shop" and as an example of that, the entire staff was required to work for Christmas set up from 6pm until after midnight with only candy and chips provided ... would not recommend taking a job there.

A typical day includes selling gorgeous home furnishings to customers, and having a great time at work. The management are very supportive, and offer a sense of community. My team all became a close knit group of friends, which made coming to work an excellent experience. The hardest part of my job would be assembling furniture.. if I even had to name one thing! This is a great place to work, and highly recommend employment here!

Never really busy and always looking for something to do. 

Atypical day was standing around and maintaining how clean the store is.

The only thing that was hard about this job was carrying heavy paintings by yourself even though you could end up hurting yourself or breaking the item the customer just broke.

One of my favourite jobs yet! Bowring had an amazing atmosphere, friendly people, and was always a clean environment. Working at bowring's is defiantly something different and not for everyone (because it is a slow paced job) but it's defiantly worth a shot!

My managers and co-workers were very friendly. I really enjoyed working here. Everyone treated me so nicely. The workload was not stressful at all, it was light and slow, it rarely got too busy.

The place overall is fun, nice employees and employers. It's not too much of a hassle and look-forward to going to work. Easy to get there and the environment is safe.

If you are an associate at Bowring, beware of having a very slow day. It is nearly impossible to get through the day without yawning, considering it is a dying business.

- A seasonal sales associate at this store may be overwhelmed if previous work experiences were more "laid back" per se.

business failed they were in faillite . Manger was absolutely rude . Well that is bpretty much all I have to say about this company , working there was  not fun nor challenging
