What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working there was in the early 2000's to about 2018. After that; things began to change for the worse and the love to work there as a nurse began to become unbearable; both with management and the new staff members that were coming. That compassionate care and working as a team was gone and you were just another number. Another issue is that it felt like the English language was no longer acceptable because there was so so much of one culture. Not only the professionalism of nursing changed for the worse, but the culture of nursing also changed and it makes you dread going there because the treatment and lack of proper care.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enjoying your job anymore.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor. To much of one culture and you wonder which country you are in.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It starts good, but anxiety and stress comes as the day going on.

Nurse at BCH for over 10 years - Mostly positive experiences.  Qualified and Professional Workers in most Departments.  I find some cliquish vertical advancement; friends refer, endorse, hire friends to fill a desired position. Very Multicultural - Mostly Asian-Indian; An understanding of the culture is an asset or I can see others perceiving those from India getting "better" treatment - Even among staff advancements. 
The Core workers are skillful and generally do their best to secure a positive outcome.  Don't believe the hype of negatives, not any worst than any of the major hospitals.
Overall a pleasant place to work - not without its stresses of course. Could give it an 8/10.

Typical day at work
Stressful non stop busy day.

Management doesn’t appreciate creative intelligent solutions for issues but instead focus on petty unimportant things.

Hard to focus on important tasks with constant interruptions which negatively impacts patient care.

Decisions made by higher ups without asking frontline staff who is doing the work if it makes sense or not, or to collaborate to streamline the roles.



Working at the Brampton Civic Hospital as a Patient Watch might seem boring but if you are communicating with patients time flies by. This job can ensure you great experiences and skills in writing, verbal as well as being in authority as a security guard. Dealing with patients shouldn't be handled physically but more verbally so that they will feel normal and not aggressive. Being able to obtain experience in this field has really opened my eyes and I look forward to gaining more knowledge and being able to make some difference in people's lives.

Teamwork and people friendly and we help each other.

When they assign you many task to do.But if you fihire it out how to do it  ,its very fulfilling.

Very nice. People friendly specially co workers.we help each other if they give everyone  many task to do.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wednesday to sunday is  better for me to work.

I started working at Brampton Civic a little over 4 years ago and experienced a culture where nurses were toxic and bullied new comers.  

The managers were uncaring and poorly trained.  The structure itself was fantastic, but unfortunately a building doesn't make the organization.


O.N.A was highly expensive and uneffective.


I left because there were no opportunities for advancement.

Worse place to work in..racism and discrimination

Corrupted leadership .. some managers are working with diploma not even college

Stressful staff shortages and large # of patients

As a nursing student, there were many opportunities for further advancement and understanding the relationship between the pathophysiology of conditions and how they are seen within the clinical setting. It was also interesting to acknowledge, intervene for the adverse effects. During my placement at Brampton Civic, I learned how to advocate for my patients, I learned how to be empathetic with patients and families, and most of all I learned how to be a nurse.

Brampton Civic Hospital is where I chose to begin my career. Over the 7 years of working there, I have grown as not only a Lab Technologist, but also as a person. My co-workers and management have made the experience working there much more fun. It is not only a laboratory, but we are like a family. This is an amazing company to work for.
