I worked here as a cashier. I was hired on the spot and never asked about my experience. They tend to do this a lot. I was given minimal training to start with, my first shift I just got put on the till while my coworker told me what to do on the spot. The store at the time did not have a manager, and ran for at least a year without one. The "manager" at the time (manager of produce that took over), would smoke in the doorways of the store in the winter time. I was constantly told rules that came out of nowhere, that my coworkers wouldn't follow and would have no consequences with (ridiculous small things, like don't wear a sweater to work, and they THEMSELVES would wear a sweater to work the next day). Manager NOT ONCE stepped in to help with me with dissatisfied customers, (either really struggled to manage the entire store or just didn't try) my coworkers who had been there for years never did a thing to help out; just ignored it. I feel like I had to figure out everything by myself. My worst job to date.

This job was great working with various meats and working with people. Getting to know the regular customers and satisfying their needs and filling orders made you feel appreciated and helpful. There were always numerous tasks to complete which made the time fly by. Learning new packaging techniques and presenting products in organized displays were important lessons. The employees and management staff maintained good rapport and were very willing to train and demonstrate with hands on experiences. The hardest part of the job was working in the freezers which required you to stay focused and work effectively in a fast pace environment. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the customers in a plesant attentive manner.

My daughter started there part time at the age of 15.  She started with 32 hours during training.  Then went down to 1 day.  The last 3 weeks, she had 1 shift and they texted her both weeks to say there were overbooked and not to come in.  This week, she had no shifts.  When she text them to ask about that, THEY SAID IN A TEXT - YOU NO LONGER WORK HERE!
She worked there for 2 months, didn't miss any scheduled shifts and was told she was doing a good job.  Then to fire her, over text, for no reason, during COVID - deplorable!!!  I would never recommend them!

The drama and politics are unbearable here. Management picks favourites and everyone else is treated horribly. I was a full-time student and when the semester ended I asked for more hours for the summer. Instead they hired another full-timer and I got less hours. Management is petty and very unapproachable, you cannot voice your concerns without risk of backlash. Don't work here. You will be overworked and under-appreciated.

The manager picked favourites didn’t care about personal problems all they care about is that you work they asked personal questions they had no right to and when voicing your problems they cut your hours and they all talk bad about people full of drama, poor communication and not enough training over all not a good work environment 

I learned a good amount of produce information while working there, good first job. Poor management, fast-pace with little prior training. The hardest part is putting up with management, no positive comments were made. Overall, easy-going job with little to no training required, good student job. 

Really enjoyed my job here when I first started. After a year my hours were getting less and less. 2 weeks in a row no shifts. They don’t follow their policy, I have no idea what I did wrong to not get any hours. No response to texts and calls. May have to visit the labour board 

Very understaffed which made it very difficult to train and gain more employees. this made a very difficult environment, and led to a lot of very frustrated workers many who ended up quitting. manager of the cold deli was very understanding and tried her best with what she had.

Favouritism is rampant, told to just rinse and serve meat that has been dropped on the floor. Little to no communication from anyone on management team, hostile, toxic enviorment. Micromanagement, no recognition for good work, hours cut with little to no explanation. The fish rots from the head down.

Brantfood Center was your average grocery store. Working there was fun and it always felt good. Brantfood Center taught me the basics of job necessities like mopping, washing dishes, good customer service practice etc.
