Bridge Electric

I appreciated my time working for this company. Quality was important to them and they cared about finding opportunities for the electricians. As I worked there it became really important to me as well.

A lot of  fun events were planned for employees, customers, and suppliers. I could tell the company cared about showing their appreciation to the team. They felt it important to give fair bonuses and be in the know about the hard work people did. I felt the superintendent was extremely kind and considerate of how the field worked. I felt there was a strong company culture.

I let the company know how I wanted to advance and I did feel like they were moving me towards that position. They even paid for and encouraged me to continue my education and build my strengths.

My favourite part of the job was keeping track of the electricians and their needs. I really appreciated that they were willing to help so many new electricians get experience with some knowledgeable journeymen, many who have been with the company for decades.

If I had anything negative to say I would probably say that things can get hectic and stressful simply due to out-of-date practices and the best way they could improve that is to embrace more technology and give new methods more time to adapt in the company. I know that Bridge is more advanced in how they handle things compared to some other companies, but things would be much easier for my position if the many processes we handle were more connected between employees and digital for better, faster tracking and management. 

Overall I appreciated my time working for Bridge and I genuinely think they have a good team in the office. I learned a lot from them.

I started with Bridge as a 1st year apprentice with no experience.  I worked with a wide variety of characters over the years learning most aspects of commercial construction.  I worked my hardest and was rewarded with progressively more challenging and interesting work as  I rose through the ranks.  The leadership team at Bridge has always appreciated hard work and thinking outside the box and those who rise to the challenge do very well.  Even when things slowed down (which wasn't very often) I was loaned out to other companies so I could pay the bills and as soon as things picked up I would be right back to work.  
Safety is priority 1 over productivity at Bridge and any tool you can imagine to make your job more efficient is available to you.  
The Christmas Party and Summer Social are definitely highlights!  I've been here 20 years now and plan on staying 20 more

Good place to work.  Like any other contractor, some sites are great, some sites are bad.  They try to give their workers the best they can.  Non-union, so work hard and prove yourself and you can move up quick.  Be lazy, blah, meh, and don't care about your workmanship or attitude, they will get rid of you.  Work hard, there is lots of steady work.

This is just my personal experience but I would say I am a decent worker and an above average apprentice. 
I showed up on time always, worked hard, was eager to learn and people saw that and foreman's would keep me on site. 

Pay is typical of most companies. The health benefits were good, 100% dental covered.

Again, my experience was good during my time there. I left for greener pastures but regretted it. I feel like I could have advanced if I stayed there. 

If you are not part of the old guard or a good worker then you will get laid off after projects end. Typical of industry. Mass hire, mass layoffs. But again, if you are good they will keep you. 

Enjoyed my time at Bridge, they have a good group of guys.  I don't like how they deal with their employees sometimes, especially when a job comes to an end.  The man power coordinator doesn't seem to care how long you've worked for the company or how hard you work.  It was a much better company when I started, since starting with them there have been many key employees who have quit.  Can be very cheap on material and rarely offers overtime.

This company is a real good one.
It makes to feel like you are a part of the company, instead another number.
It keeps you working full time year round.
Well managed, perhaps too well managed so the pay wasn't the best in the city, although year end profit share bonus made up for that nicely.
Most workers are dedicated hard workers, easily get things done together.
Hardest part of the job was to commute to work everyday in skytrain
best part of the job was to see what you have done after each task.

Rough in electrical services, conduit and wiring. Efficient methods and design of electrical applications.knowledgeable foremen and office staff. Cooperative and good team players. Pulling large conductors in conduits and working with arms over head for long periods of time.seeing the completed job and starting up various equipment and achieving end goal.

Days were always busy, and pushed for deadlines. Learned a lot here but was challenging. Management was productive. Workplace culture wasn't always positive here as the hardest was having to work with a negative coworker with an ego. Second hardest thing was working around demolition squads and working at the top of tall ladders all day. Most enjoyable part was working with other good coworker that trained well.

The hardest part of the job is finding a balance in a male dominated work place, as a woman,  this is something that is constantly changing and I am always having to adapt to due to new job sites and new groups of people. Being the hardest it has also been one of the most beneficial parts of my career choice because I have learnt life skills that I will be able to take with me wherever I go.

Very professional company, everything is very organized and safety always comes first. Most of the co workers were very intelligent. Wages were on the lower end of the industry
