Brimacombe Ski Resort

Brimacombe may seem like a fun place to work, and it is for a season or two. However, do not bank on any type of job security or advancement. The culture is toxic and full of favouritism. If you're "in" with the right people, you'll do great.. otherwise, good luck. The managers also micromanage every employee, and if you do not micromanage your staff, you're considered to be bad at your job. Hard work and endless dedication doesn't pay off and is not recognized.

A typical day at work at Brimacombe is very long, physically and mentally demanding and so much fun! I have learned how to work with the public, how to make close connections with the costumers, how to be more creative, more patient etc...

Very friendly and welcoming environment. Works around student hours, pay is as expected for a part-time job. 

The job offered a free membership to all employees. 

A great team atmosphere, fast paced, customer experience based. Friendly and well organized. Some good instructor training included and availability to do morning sessions with high level instructors.

No respect for peoples time. Shifts canceled with little notice. Managers say “open door policy” when it’s the exact opposite. If you ski or snowboard, it might be worth the hassle for the free membership. 

This was my very first job and by far my favorite. The staff are wonderful. The work environment was always cheery and welcoming. The greatest part was the boss was fantastic and of course the job itself was amazing.

I would work in the kitchen working as well as cleaning up my workspace. I managed the serving bar many times and would often help at the deli bar and anywhere else that required extra help

Everyone at Brimicombe is excited for you to be there and want to teach you as much as they can while you work there, a lot of the time you are working on your own but it is peaceful and you feel accomplished after each day

At Brimacombe it's like one big unit, everyone works together and looks out for each other. During my time there I learned a lot about working as a team and helping others out on the job.

The atmosphere is bright and fun. We were like a big family. Management strived to make the culture enjoyable. Work/life balance was good. Can be very cold in the winter- only con. Days went by very fast.
