I had a chance to work with Brinkman last year, as a rookie planter who had no idea what I was getting myself into, and I couldn't have made a better choice. 

I was intimidated entering a an industry notorious for it's brutal and strenuous work but I knew I could thrive as long as I was able to commit to the work ethic.

I worked for 3 months out of Prince George, BC only moving camps once (which I now know is rare; with more prominently other contracts have to move camps atleast twice). I was very impressed overall by the continued professionalism shown by my camp manager, and other foreman. Everyone was very welcoming, encouraging and motivated rookie planters to do their best everyday.

Brinkman is a company that respects and treats their employees with attention and care and encourages a safe and healthy work environment. I think anyone looking for treeplanting work should make sure to check out Brinkman, they're the only way to go!

Camping for spring to summer and even fall sounds great. Making money while doing it is even better. B&A get lots of work from March to October. 
Camp staff were almost always helpful. Project manager is someone I respect, and crew bosses and cooks work their tails off.
 Every year B&A brings a lot of first year planters which can be a hinderance to production. B&A is a good place to start out planting. 
Covid protocols were executed well enough in 2020 season. B&A CEO communicated directly to all that were hired to express the concerns of the Ministry of Health and be transparent about what is to happen at all work sites to comply. This was done so we would all be able to work. Thanks Timo!

Early mornings (6:00-8:00AM Start). I learned a lot about how the forest can be helped and I learnt a great deal of tree biology. The workplace culture is fantastic. A great variety of different people from all over Canada as well as some international workers. The hardest part of the job is continuing. The work is strenuous and dull. It is easy to get discouraged. The most enjoyable part of the job is the impact we are having on the environment. The pay is also a plus. The more trees you plant the more money you get (9.5-12cents/tree).

Found this to be an extremely difficult camp to work in. Things were unorganized and there was no support for staff or planters. Tough to spend a whole season with them. We felt that we were left hanging all the time and it was a really difficult in so many ways. There are definitely more supportive, better vibe tree planting companies out there and I would encourage anyone to continue looking. It's not worth it to devote your time and energy to this company. 

If your going to start tree planting, I would look else where for experience, and only go to brinkman is you have nowhere else to go. They say they pay some of the best and competitive wages, thats a total lie they pay the bare minimum. And although each camp is different, the camp at least i was in, was awful. Terrible management just in general, a lot of second managing and questionable actions.  They may have led the industry in the 70s but the 70s are long ago and they are overdue for some policy changes. 

My time at Brinkman was one that I will treasure. It taught me leadership, co-operation with all co-workers, vendors and co-workers. I learned a lot just by being there and all the courses they sent me to. I felt a sense of belonging and camaraderie that I knew I would never find in any other companies. It's one great company. 

Despite the hours for this job being extremely long and the job being very tiring and somewhat thankless, the excellent management team really made up for it. People in camp were helpful, respectful and grateful. I was allowed to hire my own assistant which was very nice. Overall, a great company to work for!

Brinkman & Associates is an amazing company to work for!
Friendly, Inviting, compassionate and patient. I would recommend this company to anyone. If you are looking for a job that will push you both mentally and physically, this is the job for you.

All in the title. Cooks make 300 which is insane.

If you're a planter, some contracts can be banging. Really hit or miss. Not crazy about the overall organization of brink. If you want to plant long term work for a different company that CBs get commission than you'll be rolling in it.

Days were long and hard but ultimately worth it. Some crew bosses are a little too heavy on pushing production which can lower morale but overall not a bad place to work as a tree-planter. It's a hard job but so rewarding!
