A typical day would be me preparing my skinning machine making sure it is working and all the parts are put together and functional. Then proceed to skin meat for 8 hours. Sometimes i will ask for a break from skinning and will be assigned to box stacking. 

I learned how to skin meat and a little bit of cutting. Most of the co workers are nice and friendly and easy to work with. The hardest part of the job is that it is super fast paced and hard to keep up, easy to get injured. What i found most enjoyable about the job was using the pallet jack and bringing pallets to shipping.

Been with the company for a year now. Extremely busy, but never boring and a great team spirit. The company, along with it's parent, Black Diamond Group, always strive to meet the needs of their consumers as well as their staff. Management is approachable and they openly ask for feedback in order to improve. Wages are fair and competitive and they encourage personal and career growth. They like to promote from within. Also, they are quick to offer praise instead of just criticism, unlike other companies I've worked for.

britco was a great place to work hard and feel accomplished at the end of the day looking back at all the work you had done it was impressive how well everyone worked together to have a safe and fun work environment

Good management, we have a zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and alcohol for the safety of all in the job site. I learned a lot especially working with different trades and union personnel. Great co-workers all are manageable and all practiced working safe habit. hardest part of the job, I have lots of task to do especially handling the cladding crew and the carpentry works so my time is short and I have to teach some of my companions and inspect their works. I enjoyed a lot from my work at the end of the project when all my work passed the inspectors qualifications.

Since Britco was taken over by Black Diamond Group a few years ago (their modular space rentals division - not manufacturing) - they've invested in technology and practical processes and training to enable employees to be successful in their role. The work environment is like a small business, and the team is tight-knit. You really have the ability to make an impact within the company with the work you do. If you are entrepreneurial at heart, this company may be good for you.

Metric Modular (formerly Britco), is one of those places that "use to be a good place to work". The one positive is the safety program. The rate of pay is poor, plant supervisory staff (with one or two exceptions) is totally lacking. This leads to low morale and a high rate of employee turn-over. Metric is always hiring (and firing). The people who end up staying are most often underqualified or new to the industry. A large percentage of those people end up leaving, once they have acquired some skills, to get a job in the construction industry that pays better.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Quitting to take a more secure position with a company not going out of business. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing from week to week if the company will still be in business. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor morale. People unhappy every day.

a typical day would be go to work start on floors and by the middle of the day our line of making walls would be way ahead then the finishing guys so we would stand around waiting. Co workers are all older and some are very rude. Hardest part is listening to the older men complain were moving to fast. enjoy talking to my lead hand and learning new things

It was a good job and i enjoyed working there, although the days did get a little repetitive.  I would work there again.   The management worked well with all my concerns and were easy to talk to.

They have a good management, very approachable and helpful co workers. They always make sure safety first. And they provide materials and safety equipments
