A typical day involves working closely with field crews and foremen who are experienced, professional, and supportive of one another. The workers and foremen create a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie on site. Unfortunately, this positive dynamic is consistently undermined by issues within the safety department, specifically due to the conduct of the safety manager.

While the other safety advisors are approachable, knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with, the safety manager abuses her position of authority and creates unnecessary conflict. It is apparent that she refuses to provide guidance or support and instead relies on intimidation, excessive scrutiny, and harassment. This behavior is directed not only at workers and foremen, but also at the safety professionals she oversees.

Management appears to be aware of these ongoing issues, yet no meaningful action is taken to address them. As a result, the behavior continues unchecked, creating an environment where workers are reluctant to speak up or raise concerns for fear of being targeted.

The workplace culture among the workers themselves is strong and collaborative, however the overall safety culture suffers significantly. Fear based management, constant criticism, and hostile interactions from the safety manager erode trust and make it more difficult for workers to focus on doing their jobs safely and effectively.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with the ongoing harassment and tension caused by the safety manager’s conduct. The most enjoyable part of the job is the camaraderie among the workers and foremen, who continue to support one another despite the challenges created by safety leadership.

I could not see myself ever working for this company again.
This company is full of liars and back stabbers from the top down.
Anyone who actually does their job and does it well is replaced, the company is a giant popularity contest. 

This company will lie to get people on site, saying positions are long term, etc. When in reality they will lay people off within a week or even that first shift.

This company claims to be an industry leader in soft trades, but it is far from. 
Moral on many job sites is extremely low, they believe in threats vs positive reinforcement. The fact this company is pushing for compressed work weeks vs giving employees fair working wages/hours, especially when you work away in camp away from your families is a joke.

They also expect employees to transfer to other job sites on their days off, at a minutes notice with no overtime, because it's a "different" job site. Turning down this "extra" work will negatively impact your career, as you wont be seen as a team player.

I could write a small novel on all the underhanded things this company has done.

This company has a list of rules to follow called in short  " the best practices" if you choose to follow them you get written up and disciplinary action is taken against you. If you choose not to follow them you get written up and disciplinary action is taken against you. Either way with this company you are screwed if you do and you're screwed if you don't. This company's site supervision only wants to hear their opinion and view coming out of your mouth and any innovation or other ideas are met with complete backlash, aggression and belittling tones and comments to that employee They have leadership that aren't qualified to do the job, they show no real ideal for leadership in a 2020 setting and while their supervisors have the title of " leaders" in a sense they only see their roles as a power struggle and right and wrong and how much power they're giving up on their egos. Sad times

Well management company and everything they talk about it they apply it on the field.

There's no one is stressful aspect working for Brock. Management and safety excellent.

Very positive starting from the morning until the end of the shift. From the top of the management to the workers, they all very respectable to other people all the time

Start the morning with a positive meeting. We do our stretch out . We discuss our work packages with the foreman. Where you need aspect about this company that you got all your materials and everything is ready for you to start your job every day.

Brock is one of the most reliable companies to work for in northern Alberta. The company has a great reputation for safety and professionalism, and its employees are known for their dedication and commitment to the job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I am concerned about meeting the deadline for the work scope. The heavy harness that the workers are using makes it difficult to work efficiently, and the harness needs to be removed and replaced frequently, further slowing down the work.

Well, I am yet to see any stressful part maybe because I am used to site operations most especially here in LNG Canada project. I have been here for about 7 months now

The work environment is a great one and most of it all, everyone is cautious about safety.

I worked for this company for 11 months in their yard, the foreman and the lead hand will look for any reason to write you up especially if they don't like you and they will constantly tell you you're not doing a good enough job and will never be happy no matter how much you do.
they always expect you to be going at 100% despite the weather outside being too cold or too hot. 
a typical day is where you are constantly looking over your shoulder fearing a write up or termination.

A typical day included preparing and installing insulation materials while maintaining a strong focus on safety. I learned how to read technical drawings and work efficiently in industrial environments. Management was respectful and well-organized. The team culture was positive, and everyone was willing to help each other. The hardest part was working in tight spaces, but the most enjoyable part was completing big projects with a proud crew effort.

There was no best part. Unorganized, can't supply PPE, management has no accountability.

Just being there was stressful enough

Toxic culture, overworked with no support from upper management
