Travelling is part of this company's culture. You can expect to travel to many destinations in US or Canada because you are essentially building up IT and software infrastructure at diverse client sites. This company has a travel team that will help you out in planning your trips.

You can be expected to work on IT tasks, training and/or programming depending on the knowledge you possess. The projects usually have an IT component where you need to setup servers and end user terminals. You will usually be sent to shop floor type environments where you have to wear security gear (boots, hard hat, high visibility vest).

You can be expected to be asked to do something that you've never done before and learn it quickly. 

This company likes to hire new graduates and pairs them with a mentor to help them succeed. You will be constantly measured on your performance as it is one of the core values of this company.

I loved working at Brock. My team was incredible, the employees are incredible and it's just a place you want to go everyday. BUT, the compensation is horrendously low, they have horrible medical/dental/vision, and the executive team doesn't care about corporate employees. Corporate employees get the smallest bonus' the smallest increases and do a huge amount of work. If you want to come and work like a dog on salary for 60 hours a week then this place is for you. Their performance management system is a little broken and makes it hard to understand exactly what they want from you. They play favorites so, be aware of that. 

If you're an engineer it's a great place to come and learn PLC's and get some experience then go make 30k more a year somewhere else.

Great opportunities for a controls engineer to understand how to implement a complete solution from the design stage to commissioning onsite. I enjoy having a mentor and have worked closely with them on projects. I enjoy when there are lunch and learns as the organizations keeps current on the latest technologies. There will be the opportunity to work with the latest platforms to give you skills necessary for the future. Enjoy having the ability to work from home. I enjoy traveling to site however, I don't enjoy commissioning at nights sometimes. For new grads there can be a bit of a learning curve which can be overcome with having a good mentor.

Very flat organization, which leads to majority of time working on your own without supervision. This leads to rise of many people who are doing bare minimum with few people carrying the team. Lack of advancement opportunities, very strange decisions by management, and overall sense of doing the same thing day after day with no changes.

Company has significant number of benefits: free lunches, ping pong and foosball table, profit sharing, bonuses.

Company also has a significant number of donwsides: No sick time, minimal vacation time (2 weeks to start, non-negotiable). minimal (2%) raises year after year which are further undercut by reduction of bonuses as your salary reaches invisible cap. Political infighting.

Brock is an amazing company to work for where you can find a place to grow in whichever capacity you wish. The culture at the company is amazing, and the people are like a 2nd family. Yes, this is a tech company that serves demanding clients in competitive industries - therefore, project demands can create a crunch at times. This is balanced with downtime, flexible working hours and environment, excellent support from leadership, and amazing colleagues. If you want to be part of a company with a bright future and have a 2nd family, work here! 

The kind, professional, and respectful co-workers, corporate culture, and technological progressiveness of Brock Solutions made the company a wonderful place to work. Unfortunately the management style of the corporate management team along with inter-departmental communication gaps created some unnecessary stress and negativity in the workplace. That paired with some of the micro management practices going on within my particular department made the last few months very stressful.

Great company to work for with many interesting projects on the go. Good quality projects being created that you can feel proud of being part of.

The salary was fairly average on a per year basis, but overtime was basically seen as mandatory and you could get shipped off to being 'on site' in various cities/countries at a moments notice. On site would be for ~10 days at a time where you'd be working 12h++ days with no extra compensation for this work (other than a meal/hotel stipend).

A great place to start a career, but very easy to get burnt out from over time and travel.

Brock Solutions is an amazing place to work if you love a challenge, work well in teams, and want the opportunity to wear many different hats. There is so much opportunity for growth at this company, if you are willing to work hard and are driven. Brock is a performance-based company that challenges its employees and rewards hard work. A project-based company, resourcing can be a challenge but leadership does its very best to align all employees with work that they feel is fulfilling. I love working at Brock.

10 days onsite with 12+ hour night shifts and no extra compensation.
Company has taken on more work than they can handle, so bonuses are good but there is a lot of contention trying to get senior staff to help.

Reviews are done by "talent managers" who may not understand your job.
Company is very involved with charity.
Very little work life balance.
No overtime pay except for time in lieu and sometimes workload makes it difficult to catch up.
Flexible hours/work from home.

Domain is highly specialized, requires you to be a fast learner, responsible and hard-working. Not fully developed in software and often lacks proper project management and software design. Salary is average but bonuses and premiums are good. Company culture is one that demands hard-work and over-time often during project peak that does not necessarily get rewarded. Employees are mostly friendly and helpful. Excellent spring board for starting a career and teaches you plenty useful tools and skills.
