start 7am sharp, contact all drivers to make sure that they are on schedule for deliveries, go into SAP look for additional orders that need to be shipped out, add to my dispatch, re route runs, call customers to advise them when there product is arriving, schedule drivers/carriers as needed, answering e-mails, I usually get between 150 to 200 e-mails per day, coordinate freight movement with other  division, invoicing all orders going out to customers, loading trucks and off loading trucks with forklift when needed. My day would end anywhere from 7pm to 11pm 

My computer skills improved quit a bit, learning different formulas and using a pivot table for organizing orders.

Management needs to improve.

Worked with a great group of people, they were easy to get along with, hard workers and made the most stressful days easier to manage with their positive attitudes.

The hardest part of this job was working 14 hour days 7 days a week to get the orders out (during busy season) when it could have taken 6 days a week at 10 hour days if managed properly.

The most enjoyable part of this job, was getting it done, doing it right and satisfying our customer needs. It felt good to hear praise from our customers  on what a great job I was doing, especially when the messages came from management!!

Although BTN is a big operation, the BC division is a very small operation.  Management is very personal and friendly.  Management listens to the employees and acts accordingly.  For anyone who is professional in their work it is easy to excel and advance into new roles.  Training and professional growth is encouraged.
Being such a small operation the workday is never dull as activities change frequently.  At times it can be challenging and may give you a chance to show-off some creativity.
The few other work colleagues are happy, always joking, and easy going, making a fun team environment. Everyone is very helpful and nobody is favored above others.

Earlier start to the workday in spring working outdoors with plants.  Picking and preparing the best for shipping to big box stores across Canada.  Fellow employees and management are great with a strong drive on goals and targets.  Workplace culture is casual but seasonally focused with lots of cultural diversity.  The hardest part of the job is longer days during the spring rush getting plants out to the customer - one of the joys working on a farm.  The best part of the job is being outdoors with a great group of people - spring days go by fast, and then some slower, calmer time to enjoy the summer!

Extremely hot and difficult working conditions. Long days in the sun as to be expected with nursery & greenhouse work. Issues included a very negative attitude among pickers that seeps into other areas of the facility. The largest issue in my eyes was the fact that the facility is too large for its own operation; meaning, there was not enough water pressure to make sure everything had been sufficiently watered  in both the greenhouse and the outdoor area which lead to conflicts between different teams.

They also slacked on training employees on basic things like ladder safety and gator training.

The work can be fun if you like plants and being active. It will take a few days to get into the routine and your body to adjust to the physical demands. It’s a good student job. Some of the management is immature and unprofessional. But if you look past that it can be fun, you make some friends, you’re in the sunshine and you’re getting a workout. Just don’t let it get to you personally and end the day at work - come home relax and know it’s only a temporary job if that’s what you’re looking for. Good experience.  You’re working in all weather conditions. So if it’s a rainstorm and they have orders to pick, you’re still out there working.

This Company for easily the worse experience in my young professional career. When asking for help you are ignored or if not ignored you get fired for speaking your mind. They show complete lack of care for employees every single day. When bringing up issues such as harassment, other then dealing with the issue they fire people that are being harassed. 
Management is unwilling to change their broken system they are working with and upper management is a complete laughing matter. 

Don’t waste you time or state or mindS life is to short to work for these people. The “family business” is just laughable 

As a temporary employer, its an enjoyable place to work. I've witnessed how the different levels of management interact equally with its employees. The formula this company is using, seems to  leave each individual with the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day... me included. Probably the hardest part of this Job, is having to travel (the gauntlet) the 401. While it is manageable, it requires your driving skills to be at their most highest alert, it tests your patience and a lesson in courtesy that will get you where you are going safely.

Lots of physical activity/walking and being outside, if that's your thing

Horrible management, ridiculous inhuman expectations for staff to meet quotas, insane work hours, will often get pressured into staying late

Not for people who can't handle a little old fashioned elbow grease. This is the kind of work you can brag about. Over 1500 varieties of plants keeps things interesting. Good people, company cares about its employees, feeds us pizza lunches, buys donuts and celebrates monthly birthdays with cake for everyone. You'll be tired the first week but you get used to it. Great way to get in shape and get a tan!

This job was the toughest I’ve ever had. However the staff were AMAZING and kept me coming back spring after spring.  This position is great for people looking for temporary work or those who need some quick money! I wouldn’t be able to make the money I did working any other minimum wage job
