As a first job, Bubba Gump has been a very good employer. Landry’s treats its employees with many benefits if you join the discount program. You are able to get great discounts on food, clothes, and even hotels. It isn’t hard to land an interview with the company as some people here had no initial experience and landed a dish pit or host job. Depending on the time of year, you will see significant change whether that be more higher and less hours or constant scheduling. The schedule comes out by weekly and can sometimes come out on short notice but is able to be freely adjusted through swapping or giving up shifts to other co workers. Staff and managers are typically very nice and understanding, however there has been numerous times in the past that tensions are held between hostesses as it isn’t uncommon for hostesses to pick fights with each other for who should be bussing or wiping the tables and who’s seating people at the front too much. It can get exhausting and make it seem undesirable to want to go to work when there’s drama to be had but as of late has been pretty calm (knock on wood). Sometimes we are assigned with odd jobs such as cleaning up waste in the washrooms and are responsible for keeping the washrooms clean at all times despite that being mentioned getting into the job. Other than that, we are also tasked with a few jobs to handle throughout the shift such as previously mentioned, hostesses have to seat people, buss tables, wipe tables, do retail transactions, clean the washrooms and anywhere in the restaurant that may need to be cleaned, along with the occasional time that servers request for you to run food with them. Overall it isn’t a bad job, but can get overwhelming at times. Pay and tips is pretty good as well. In the end, I believe that it depends on who you work with and if you easily get along with people- that will determine how much you enjoy working here. 

The restaurant itself is a great work environment, and the staff who work there are all hard workers who are fantastic to work with, both FoH and BoH. It has the potential to be a fantastic place to work but its being squandered by the General Manager. Employees are all viewed as disposable, and if he feels like you've upset him in any way prepare to be verbally belittled in front of customers or other employees. When he is in a good mood he is tolerable, but it's rare. He consistently will remind people that they can be easily replaced and shows little appreciation for anybodies efforts. He is a very difficult man to work with and has been the main reason for the majority of employee departures. You will be cross trained into multiple different roles without any pay increase. More responsibility, but no more compensation. Advancement at this company is not something you should expect. The tips are great, and the hours are good, but the trade off is the management you will have to answer to. Schedules also come out incredibly late, often times without even 24 hour notice, it is very difficult to manage your schedule outside of work hours. If your a student or parent, this can be incredibly frustrating. Don't expect to be respected if you accept a job here. I've popped in a few times since my employment and it doesn't seem like much has changed.

Not a terrible job but its lacking better management. They have favorites so you have to suck up. They never promote within unless they favour you even if your good at your job. Hours are short so it's good for a part time job if ur in school or have a second job, avg shift is 3 hours then they send you home cause it's dead. You pay into the discount every month just to get half off food and thirty percent off in the store. If you call in have fun with getting belittled for being sick or dealing with something then coming to work the next time to a write up for no reason. Fun times. Will never go back but hey at least they're are tips.

if you want to expirience working in a racist Management,I do highly recomend working in Bubbagump west end mall.
He only give lots schedule to their favorites people
its not worth it to worked at your best because for the gen.manager it doesnt matter..Lots of Pioneer manager Resign and quit already because they cannot tolerate working with him.
This is the only Restaurant in Edmonton that the Senior people gets the less schedule than the new one who

DO NOT TAKE A JOB HERE!

The Working culture is poor and abusive, company policy is non beneficial to work-life balance. Advancement and professional growth is non existent.
Communication is poor and selective. Management (GM) is unethical and corporate managers have no empathy for Staff and Jr. Managers.
Long hours, OT and extra days are not compensated. Minimum of 55 hrs a week for managers.
Schedules are never posted in time, sometimes not even 24 hrs in advance.

Every shift made my life worse the management hates their staff and refuses to give hours to servers. Cut hours based on how much the boss gets along with you and on looks. Got cut after 3 hours every shift! Called once a week and was asked if I wanted to work that day. Never busy because management doesn’t know how to train staff. Hires non team players because they like when there staff fight 

Coworkers are absolutely some of the best people you could ever dream of working with. Money is usually pretty good WHEN you work--overstaffed, expect to be working 10-15 hours a week. Gm shows blatant favoritism and can be hard to get along with. Best thing about job--very positive atmosphere, easy to make friends with everyone there. Hardest part of the job--being pushed to sell these membership cards that no one wants 

The restaurant industry, however, isn't without its downsides. The hours could be long and irregular, especially during weekends and holidays. Balancing work with personal life required some adjustments, but the camaraderie among colleagues made it worthwhile.

In terms of compensation, while it may not be the most lucrative position, the experience and skills I gained were invaluable.

An alright place for students or anyone looking for part time.

Although schedules don’t come out within 24 hours notice, and you never know when your shift officially ends. Management cares very much for looks and is noticeably biased. So many things to complain about, but those are the main things to keep in mind. 

Pretty much everything that could suck working in a restaurant is included in this job. Not worth working here unless you don’t care about your shifts being all over the place, bad tips, short hours, and constant drama. There’s so much more but I’d might as well write a book.
