I had a great opportunity with working in a cooking environment with great people, however, the costumers there treated us very poorly. I handled this well by never talking back to a costumer, while ensuring that the issue was going to be solved. A typical day at work would start by preparing the snack bar before it opened; prepping the food supply, work station, cash register, and store front. Once we opened and the day started to pick up, I would be by the friers working and preparing meals for the costumers. I would also be scooping ice cream or cashing out the costumers on occasion. This job taught me how to deal with costumers as well as how to work in a food environment. The management at The Buffalo Canoe Club was not the greatest as they were very unorganized. The scheduling was posted the night before the week of shifts started and either overbooked or under-booked staff. It was my responsibility to book time off weeks in advance if I wanted, however, the management would overlook which days staff members booked off and still schedule them in. The hardest part about this job was being treated so poorly by the costumers as well as not having an appropriate amount of breaks and over scheduled work hours. The most enjoyable part of this job was the people I worked with and being able to bring smiles to peoples faces.

Coming in to work and hoping they will be least then 100 people

The job I possessed at the BCC isn't a job many can do or apply for. You have to be very good at customer service because most of the members at the club have a lot of money and expect a lot from the employees. Must be good with kids regardless of what department you work in.

Clean work areas , fast paced busy snack bar. Employers were great very friendly and honest . Also very willing to teach , management was amazing very helpful training you for the position. Overall good place to work

Every day working at the canoe club was fun. Lots of different clients, people on staff, and so many different opportunities to learn. It was a fantastic way to get into the high-end styles of cuisine.

Was an entertaining seasonal place to work that offered a great hourly wage and a great bunch of employees. The most enjoyable part of this job was the spectacular view from the dining room and tasting all the wonderful specials everyday

Nice place to work! Great food, fun people, if I hadn’t left The area I would not have left this job. 

The job is eventful, with weddings, buffets, private parties. Lots to keep you interested.

Great place to work in the summer, friendly staff and guests. Fun environment, very laid back. Learned many new skills as far as bartending goes, serving is mostly banquet style and/or buffet.

Working at the Buffalo Canoe Club was a great summer job. The management was extremely easy to work with and everyone shared a devotion to service excellence.

Buffalo canoe club has both amazing staff and members. in the beginning its a bit hard to get use to everything as any job would be, but once you get the hang of it and have a routine its better.
