The hours are reasonable. Our schedules reflect our availability well, and we aren't expected to work a ridiculous amount. The schedules are normally released with at least 1-2 weeks of notice before the shifts, which works just fine for me. I get along well with my coworkers and store management, which is probably one of the biggest pros. We are occasionally understaffed, which makes the (Usually reasonable) workload quite stressful. The pay is minimum wage, which isn't unreasonable given the type of job this is, but is still not a pro.

Overall, I enjoy working here. It's easy to nitpick issues, but Bulk Barn is certainly not what I would consider a bad company to work for. I would recommend working here to a friend, if they were considering it.

The management doesn't care at all. They come in late, leave early, gossip about their personal life all day in the office/on the phone while we struggle to pick up the slack.
There are few raises, you have to fight for them and when you get one it's 10 cents an hour and heaps of extra responsibility. 
You might work as late as 10pm one night and have to work 8am the next morning. They don't care that the schedule burns you out and ruins your social life. 
No work/life balance. Poor communication between management and staff. Basically no raises. The discount is nice, though. 


Worked there for 7 months. Was cool at first, but then all my coworkers were talking together without working, were talking behind everyone's back, were playing on their phone or on the registers while I was the only one working and cleaning. I lost my job because apparently my coworkers "didn't like me" because I was working rather than talking, which is unfair. The boss only listened to the other employees and send me away without any notice day, which is completely unfair. I do not recommend this job unless you love unfairness, working alone and having a team two-faced!

What is the best part of working at the company?
There wasn't one. Doesn't make sense, if I finish early, and restricted past a certain time, I should be able to leave early and not get paid to stand around after finishing close. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Company bureaucracy. 
Idiot managers. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile, especially for autistic individuals. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
To much bending, confusion from improper stock storage and inventory systems.

There's only so much work you can do, and management will keep you doing the same things over and over without any sort of result (dusting, etc). Gets really tedious very fast. Causes a lot of drama, since everyone is so bored they need something to do. 
It has the potential to be a great job, when you have a good team and good management

I can’t really say how bull barn is now but when I was there it was a very chill atmosphere and the management was great along with my fellow employees. Management would help anyone the best way they could if they needed time off or anything like that. The management has changed since my time being there I was forced to leave when head office took over after their renovations . 

The most important part of the job are the customers, and helping people.
The hardest part of the job is your under stress quite a bit

always have to be at your 100%, Rules for some people but not for others.

It’s a very good company to work for, the HR strictly controls decisions hence no politics. The head office is very easily approachable. The only con of working there is no benefits , no bonus and no career advancements 

Lower stress, very friendly people. Not really any training they just kinda throw you in, however you can ask as many questions as you want and nobody will get upset because they understand. Customers tend to be quite nice. Very few hours though so not for people needing money.
