Burlington Post

A day of work at the Post is near-enjoyable in terms of hours and work. The papers would arrive, I'd stuff them, and then I'd make my rounds and deliver all 60 within the hour. I would do this every Thursday and Friday, and collect tips from customers at the end of each month. During this job, I learned the values of hard, honest work, how to construct my own work schedule, and how to work with minimal to no supervision. The management at the post is good, with the carrier supervisor constantly keeping carriers up-to-date on any complications or additions to the daily deliveries. I can't say much about co-workers,as delivering the papers is more of a solo job. if there was a hard part of the job, it would be having to deliver around Christmas time, as the papers become extra-large with all the toy ads added to it. However, the job is most enjoyable due to the fact that the work hours are VERY flexible, with the only requirement being that the papers are delivered before 6 o'clock.

Was a very interactive job from making the papers when they got delivered to my house and then take them out and bring them to the houses and sometimes run into the actual owners. Sometimes ill get to talk to them and meet them and I loved it. I did the job for 5 or 6 years through a lot of terrible snowstorms and rainy days but I still was walking my little cart through it all.

Most Thursday the post was delivered on time. Then I would just put together the post and go for a walk and deliver it to the people who pay for it.  But when the post stopped delivering actual newspapers. We lost are job and no one told us. It just never came again. Weather made it more enjoyable or not. 

I had to put together lots of paper then I had to put them in mail boxes on our street. Some people didn't want paper, so we respected them by no giving it to them. The only problem was that they was some extra pieces and so it would be a waste.

Every Thursday and Friday I would deliver newspapers to about 90 houses and took up probably 2 hours of my day each day. I enjoyed being a newspaper deliverer because it was easy and I enjoyed talking to the people that live at houses I was delivering to.

I Come home from school, have a snack, put papers together, deliver and collect once a month. 

Not many hours.

Can still have a social life.

Learn time management as well as how to deal with customers and money while providing an exceptional service.

They provided imperfect asistance and made it quite difficult to fit my needs. Although, this taught me to make sacrifices to commit to my job and deliver the papers on time.

It was a 32 house paper route with really sweet older clients who loved how we always bagged the papers. Collection time was always a really nice bonus, and the games the newspaper let the carriers play every month to win prizes or gift cards were really cool.

The typical day was preparing and delivering papers. I learned about the paper route and time management. Management was good, and workplace culture was good too. The hardest part was delivering in the winter and the most enjoyable part was delivering the papers.

Have to deliver newspaper to local houses. Good way to learn how to be organized and about time management. Sometimes the papers get delivered late and does cause minor problems, but nothing too big and that can't be solved.
