C.A.D. has alot going for it, and alot of spaces to fill. Its a fun job and the tasks are rewarding. It can be disorganized and a little chaotic, but you face your own wits. 

Management wants your success as they want the companies. If you put in the work you get appreciation and support. You get what you give, and if it comes up short look into yourself. 

There are alot of different tasks to be done so you can carry previous experience into a new role and they will place you. You arent stuck there either, in respect to not flipping and flopping.

The crews are very accepting good hearted people, some harder than others of course. Stand as a Man or as a Woman but stand and shell out the effort.

I like hour the work hours, they are set day start at 6:30 or 7:00 to 2:45 or 3:15 which is handy if you have kids or just like beating traffic. There is also a night shift which offers a wage bump if you prove proficiency and effective man hours.

Wages are not as competitive as other but the exercise and skill building are worth more in the long run.

Benefits are nice with health and dental after 6 months covering individual and family. Works out to cost about a dollar off your wage. But darn they cover your end.

Yeah. Its all good. 



Mainly a safe place to work except for the poor ventilation leaky roof and too many types of work being done in confined spaces with too many people around you to work effectively. Management is more concerned about their bonuses then providing a proper service to their clients. Parts took forever to get and were not ordered properly and effectively when they are needed. Even with all that nonsense we somehow got the job done and worked it out to get the product back to the client. You have those types of things in different manners at many companies. I'm proud to say I have worked with some fine people. I enjoyed my time all the same going through the machine to get the job done.

A typical day at work was 6:30am to 2:30pm. The hours were great for job work/life balance. The distance was not too far. My co-workers were funny, friendly, and supportive. I worked on trains from the major flood in Toronto, I learned to decal trains, remove windows, prep trains for the paint shop. Place decals on completed trains and was in charge of the instruction booklet on how to place each decal. Management head office was in Montreal. The hardest part of the job was ensuring the final decal on a completed train was placed perfectly, striping and lettering had to be perfect. The most enjoyable part of the job was doing the decals.

The newly appointed  leadership team is dedicated to implementing new strategies and practices that enhance our services and overall work environment. This approach is creating a culture of improving the way we do things, which I find both motivating and inspiring.

While CAD is navigating through a period of transition, the positive changes and growth opportunities make it a great place to further advance your career. I am optimistic about the future and proud to be part of a team of highly motivated indivuduals.

Do not take the job too seriously. Do the work that you have to do and go home to your life. Far too many people like to get involved in drama here. Management is completely disorganized. Time management of projects is nonexistent and delays happen constantly which leads to rushed jobs and stress put onto workers due to management not being honest about project times to higher ups.

CAD has so many problems it is hard to write such a long  list.  At the top of the list however is safety or the tremendous lack of safety protocol. Secondly is management, at the highest level it is non existant. Middle management is great, despite the total lack of direction and tools they are given.  Everything is centred around cutting corners and lining the pockets of the owner.

It was a quite productive and social workplace with multicultural ressources from many people   of most side of the wolrd.

Management wasn't  enough organised  and jobs was resulting of too many reworks.

Lot's of waste in order of waiting time for material from shop or store.

High risk was noted  with little care  and most nearmiss was also noted .

CAD is a very responsible company with the payments of the law but unfortunately they have worst management that I've seen in Canada, they are too disorganized, they hire many people without knowledge and they do not care to train them, they do not comply with the salary increase times existing in the contract, there are many bosses who do not know the assembly work, etc, etc, etc.

Like test Technician I was a part of the project ViaRail when we do remanufacturing F40 locomotive, freight car and passenger railcar fleets to meet volume demands, fuel efficiency targets and new environmental and emission standards. We were from the beginning in this big project of 53 locomotives remanufacturing process and was a big challenge.

very good place to work, always got to be on your guard lots of heavy machines and trains moving around all the time, like train motors going over your head on a crane that is 16 cylinders with a turbo on it.
