Underpaid for the workload, Bad management.
Some leaders don't stick up for their guys. 

They will work you to the ground and then replace you like its nothing the second you can't make overtime to meet their ridiculous expectations that they underpay us to do. 

The Safety in this shop isn't the greatest. They wait until you get hurt until something is done about it even though they were warned multiple times before by multiple people.  

Don't fall for the interviews either... They make it look really good but most of it are lies. 

You could work anywhere else at the average pay for welders, only 40 hours a week  and make more money than this place with profit shares.

I'd happily go make less for my moral/happiness. 

Not to mention, we get one 15 minute break for the first 6 hours of work out of our 10 hour work day and then its cut short for a safety meeting... You get one 30 minute lunch and two 15's so they fit the last 45 minutes of breaks in the last 4 1/2 hours.

1 HR meeting a month which is on your lunch and you are not paid for then forced to go & if you don't go, they say you're not a team player and threaten your job. You do get a free lunch worth 7$ during that meeting but the free lunch isn't worth our free time of relaxation for half an hour. Some of us need to get out of there for at least 30 minutes a day to stay positive and have some fresh air. 


If you don't believe this review, go in and ask around, even accept the job and you'll see for yourself real quick.

Throughout my time at Cam Tran, I have been able to grow, develop, and be a part of a great team! There is an open line of communication in regards to targets, which I feel really motivates and helps people to work together productively. The company also does a very good job at communicating the overall vision to employees through their monthly lunch meetings (there is an onsite Chef and Cafeteria!)  If you have a desire to learn and continuously improve processes, Cam Tran is a great environment to do so. I believe Cam Tran has a positive outlook on the future, a high level of job security and a desire to develop new leaders. It is a fast paced environment, so I do feel ambitious, forward thinking individuals would be best suited!

Overall Cam Tran has been a great employer to work for and I am glad I was given the opportunity to be part of a team that collaborates and encourages lots of innovative thinking!

Cam Tran is an innovative, and progressive company in terms of compensation and benefits that it provides to its employees. 

That's where the positive perspective ends. Management continually say that they are making improvements, but they keep on making the same mistakes over and over again.  They need to start listening to their hourly employees if they want to learn what the real problems are and how to fix them.

They terminate dedicated employees, and promote and support bad employees. The positive company that I was hired to work for, has drastically gone down the drain. 

They have brought in the wrong people to take over the company; people who have no concept of the family run business that they used to be.

The owners need to open their eyes before its too late and all of their hard work goes down the drain.

At first I was excited about this job. On paper it sounded alright and the company said some promising things in the interview. It was all downhill from there. They lied about virtually everything. They mistreat all their employees, over worked them and threaten you with “the politics” if you don’t come in for every mandatory Friday. You will be working 48 hours a week till you quit or go on doctors leave from being hurt and overworked. They don’t care because they just have welder after welder, labourer after labourer coming in for interviews to replace you. You’ll never get time off, it’s like pulling teeth to go to a dentist appointment. The profit share is a joke and all the skilled labourers and welders are disgusted with management, they are so disrespectful. 

If you don’t believe this review.. just wait till you get on the shop floor and ask around!

The place depressed me. Summers were spent not enjoyed but rather working 48 hours every week in a very hot environment. By the time you were actually off you were exhausted because they are tough jobs, on your feet all the time. They promoted their 4 day work week but it was not the case. You worked 5 days a week still, making plans on your day off (Friday) was not allowed because you were expected to work. What is the point of having Fridays off then? The guys who did like overtime were in bad need of the money which was also depressing. Was hastled about attendance, what do they expect when you make people work 48 hours every week? 

Profit sharing was hit and miss with promises of it getting back to what it used to be which never came true in my time. They offered no paid sick leave (my new employer is not barbaric and does). Turnover seemed extreme.

They will tell you that you get a monthly bonus if you’re on time and show up every day, when you are in the interview. Then when you start working you realize every single person on every line in the factory has to be on time and present every day plus all lines have to be on schedule. Management will set you up so your line is never on schedule, for example they need 50 transformers in a day, if your line reaches that the next day they will want 60. This place is so disorganized from the top down, they will fire your line lead then put a guy in that position that has no clue what he’s doing.
They will tell you this is a company that you can grow with and there’s lots of opportunities but the truth is you’re just another number doesn’t matter if you’re a hard worker or a lazy waste of skin, you will be paid the same

Right now, I'm a cell leader on the night shift, so my typical shift is leading a team in preparing the day shift for the best possible day they can have. I've learned that if you work hard, treat people with respect and as an equal, they in turn will work hard and have respect for you. My fellow leaders and upper management are all struggling right now, but we are learning to work together to make things better and manageable. For the most part we try to have fun and be optimistic, but is sometimes difficult when numbers and expectations are overwhelming. The hardest part of my job is telling people what they're doing wrong, or need to work harder when they usually feel like they are. The best part of my job is the good relationships and partnerships with colleagues and the workforce I've accumulated over the years.

The work here is boring, the job is boring. It takes zero skills to work here.  No experience needed, which is perfect if you are a mindless zombie. Here you will be treated as only a number and there is no room for advancement as management has friends ready to fill any position that might open up.  This company does absolutely zero for the community and has no plans to change that. 
The work life isn’t great. Lots of high school-esque drama. Mostly spread by one or two people but it affects the attitude of the whole building.  
I would suggest they hire more kids straight out of Highschool as they will be used to this sort of drama and bullying. 
The pay is enough, but if you have any actual skills you will be wasting your time. 

If 48 hours a week is too much for you maybe you should look elsewhere for work.  Overtime is pretty standard with this company but not always mandatory. It is a fast paced environment with work that does not run out. Straight day shifts. 10 hour days ( Mon-thurs) Overtime starts at 40 hours ( not 44). Job security. Overtime. Consistent pay checks. If you’re a hard worker and a team player with a good attitude you’ll do fine here. Also on site cafeteria with very decent food. Lots of great people. Some not so great. Just like anywhere else. Have had the opportunity to travel and see the country while working here and have been able to move up steadily. 

Cam Tran is a fast paced environment. Days go by quickly but it’s not easy work. Management can be tough to deal with especially when HR seems to be in charge. If you have any issues HR is supposed to be there for the employee but they certainly are not. They are only looking out for their own jobs not that of the employees. 
Coworkers are great. Work well as a team and always there to help if needed. 
Work hours are Monday to Thursday with mandatory overtime on Fridays which seems to be every Friday. Rarely do you get a 4 day week. 
If you’re looking for an ok environment with reasonable pay and not much room for advancement unless you become a bosses pet then this is the place to be.
