On one hand, working at cansel was a great time. Customers were excellent. I will miss them greatly. I really liked the demographic. The technology, amazing. The industries, hugely respectable. I felt great satisfaction contributing to cansel in general. There were many professionals here I was happy to work for. It felt great being a part of this organization. I put my all in and was valued in many areas.

Unfortunately there are some questionable characteristics within this company which you may or may not encounter. What I experienced was borderline reprehensible. Toxicity exists here. I can't guarantee you won't experience it. If you are averse to narcissism, tread carefully.

I sorely miss being a part of this industry, for me it felt worth fighting for and defending. I haven't felt the level of pride and commitment for a job that I felt at cansel, before or after. I still can't believe I'm not an employee here anymore. Unfortunately my experience here was rife with unprofessional experiences and low interpersonal standards . I grinded my job. I left with PTSD. 

I started at a company that was purchased by Cansel.  

The transition from small close-knit company group to a performance-based sales environment where services were predominately and strategically more important then unit sales was daunting, refreshing, and for sure a significant challenge I was ready to take on. 

Participating in weekly sales discussions with management about my performance and my pipeline opportunities was always a challenge but perhaps realistic in a business sales environment.
Extremely high sales performance targets created more pressure to generate more sales as a primary focus in all activities.

Management holds all accountable for sales revenues and volumes within each and every profit cost centre.  

Having such a strong portfolio of products available from within the Cansel franchise and not be permitted to sell any of those products into my accounts was always very frustrating and seemingly counter-intuitive.
I was never able to reconcile that in my mind of wanting to go after more deals.

I like a work environment where I can, be myself, make new friends, and gain new skills that will help me in future employment. At a Day at Cansel Wade the people the are very respectful and are to make sure that you have a good time working there. I like to socialize with my co-working, because I will be nice to know who I am working with or for, thus this can help gain trust and a sense of awareness to you can have the best time working. But in every new job there's always a learning curve. Those first few weeks are a little rough, but after a short period of time, help a little help for your co-workers, and a little determination, you can achieve anything.
Overall, a good environment, and respectable co-workers is what makes a job worth working for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It's à good company to start with if no experience in crédit/ collection. But the salary is really peanut.  An account payables in BC gets only 45k , AR / collection/ crédit is 50 to 52k with 40 hours n plus a week.  That too in  year 2021 where everything are so expensive,   cost living.  There is no revised salary and you may entitled for a bonus only once in 5 years . People are nice 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There were no stress for me. I don't know about others.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Remote work for most of the employees & diverse culture,  most were immigrants.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Had a portfolio client to call, solved issues. So it was busy

It's very performance-oriented (so not for people that don't perform), but no one is micromanaged and everyone is left to accomplish their job in the best way they see fit (within reason). They take care of their customers and most people in the company are fun and chill. It's also cool to know Cansel is contributing to Canada's infrastructure and engineering industry. It's growing really fast and so there seems to be lots of opportunity.

Dartmouth Branch was managed remotely, which left no accountability on site for anyone. Our “sales manager” was terrible, always leaving early and passing on his duties to everyone else. The General manager seemed to have no clue what our division did, and offered little to no guidance in our sales and production meetings, and typically just skipped the meetings all together. They didn’t market out branch in anyway which made the salesman’s jobs very difficult 

My typical day was fast paced meeting deadlines and co-ordinating jobs into production. doing quotes on a daily basis in a timely fashion. performing regular customer service duties as well throughout the day. Had the pleasure of working with a great team of co-workers. The most enjoyable part of my job would have to be the strong relationships I've built over the years with customers. Great sense of feeling efficient and productive.

Very poor Management, unorganized, not transparent about commission structure, Warehouse Staff is EXCELLENT, Middle-Senior Level Management relies on its hard working Account Managers to prop them up and make them look good and take credit for work they know Nothing about.

A typical day included:
- worked with  CSE IT to set up Internal Nationwide Processing Systems 
- Speaking with Venders developing relationships
- communicated with CSE sales teams and technicians across Canada

Management is brutal no people skills. ...rude ignorant. ..do not say good morning when you pass by.Have no clue about the offset printing industry..the lady that runs the digital department is the most ignorant person I have ever encountered, hard to believe she still works there brutal...
