As a PSW, you are working with other health care professionals as a team, make sure to communicate with everyone on patient care, so you are ready for each and every shift.

Hardest part of the job are inconsistent hours, day, evening, night, weekdays, weekends, and the transportation can be an issue.

Most enjoyable part of the job?
Getting to privilege to work in the hospitals

As far as salary, they are paying standard salary like other companies, it's not the company, but the wage gap in the health care system, not the company. Health care system (hospitals, workers, medical supplies, etc) have limited funds, as a result, this reflects the wages.

If you care about the money, then go for a home based PSW job. If you care about the hospital experience, then I highly recommend CareCor Inc as your choice to join because of their hospital affiliation, their amazing staffing office, and caring management, who meets once a year to listen to our concerns, to make improvements in the company.

In this job I was giving students vaccines. The training that was provided was good it was short but they taught you everything you needed to know in order to do the job correctly. I was also trained to give the public the flu vaccine, they explained about the vaccines in depth and answered a lot of questions regarding the public's fear with what a flu vaccine contained. my co-workers were all great people to work with as you could ask anyone of them anything and they were always willing to help and answer any questions that I may have asked. The hardest part of the job was being called the morning of to report to a school because sometimes I was not really familar with most of the areas I was sent. The most enjoyable part of this job was getting to go to different places within Toronto and experencing different people as well as different environments. Management was very good as they were very understanding if a person was not able to make it to one of the job sites they would still call them for the next job that came up.

For this type of work, you are better off working with another company...simply for the fact that you will be doing the exact same job in the exact same places, for a wage you might actually be able to live off of. The pay with carecor ($12/hr) is honestly degrading in my opinion. There's people flipping burgers and making more per hour. Combine that with the inconsistent schedule and long hours (you can expect to work 12+ hours with no break as per their policy for certian private assignments) and you will burn out very quickly from this job. In addition you are required to pay your own parking (usually between $15-$25 per day), as well as a cell phone, and receive no compensation whatsoever. If you want to actually make money at work, don't work here.

I would not recommend this job to any new grad or newer nurse (as it is advertised by the director during the interview and on the website). This job should only be for an experienced nurse. The interview process made it seem like this was a job for new grads to gain experience and its just not. They put us on extremely heavy, short floors and do not provide the education that we need. The two nursing supervisors are really nice and basically always available for help and support but it is not enough for the type of job that this company expects us to do. This company doesn't pay for accommodations as the other companies do. You are not unionized so you have basically no coverage for issues and they continually put you into unsafe situations and patient ratios. I wouldn't work for this company again and wouldn't recommend it.

Hard to balance as a casual worker and full time student. Shifts often confirmed last minute and will need to run for your shift. Minimum wage for mostly night shifts, 7pm to 7am usually, your job will definitely be partly PSW as well, not just sitting. Management constantly find reasons to threat to terminate your contract. This job is emotionally and physically demanding and it will be very difficult to save any money. The hospital and government funding is probably more than enough to pay more than minimum wage, even the nurses think 15 is too little for sitters especially when this agency expects you to take this job seriously. Unempathetic experience overall. The only good thing is the hospital experience. 

I loved learning about the hospital environment, but I often felt lost and confused about what to do. You don't get any supervision on the job, or directive job goals. You have to manage your time and make decisions you feel comfortable to make. Sometimes, my responsibilities would bleed into those of a PSW and I didn't receive any compensation for this. I also could only get 12 hour shifts, which is not realistic as a student. Some of the patients were violent and I did not feel compensated well-enough to deal with that behaviour. I don't work there anymore, but I do still recommend it as a way to get your toes wet in the hospital environment

You are basically sitting in a chair for 12 hour shifts. you are placed on a rotating schedule if you're full time of 4 12 hour shifts per week. Two weeks are day shifts 7am-7pm, and the next two weeks are evenings 3-11, 3-9, or overnight 7pm-7am. I found this very difficult to switch back and forth. And you don't have a choice of your shifts unless you drop your availability down to part time. Staff does work with you to accommodate you, but their hands are also tied.

Carecor does have a high level of respect and consideration of the hard work of their employees

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Few workers who are in charge of receiving employees' calls, while booking shifts in Bluesky, were not polite.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great, in my opinion Carecor doesn't discriminate, Carecor is a company that value equality treatment and value all cultures without discrimination.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I do enjoy working every single day for Carecor.

Working with Carecor via Hospital Settings with many various hospital sites all I can say was I enjoyed working at carecor , Never have that moment that I was thinking of moving out or change this agency, though I get satisfied working with carecor, all the staffing are sincerely doing all their best to give you your suiting schedules, very approachable and caring , I always missed all of them and I'd like to go back and work with carecor again , I'm coming back soon. I will almost finish fixing my Immigration papers. Wish to be back soon after my PR kick's in.See you guys🌸💝🎁💚🥰♥️

What is the best part of working at the company?
Cause it is 15 mins from my house. The pay is very cheap an sometimes they are very inconsistent.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Cheap wages. Always very slow every Feb march an Apri and nothing ever done to change it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's  ok cause you they only give us shift we work at the hospital. They don't stand up for staff if things go wrong.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Most time call at 5:30 am go to hospital 0730 to 19:30. Give shower. Feed n companion.
