Commissions are shared amongst the sales staff and the sales staff only, which is definitely not much in comparison to other commission jobs of the same sort, and DEFINITELY not much considering the fact that the store has sales a ton on a daily basis.

There are more managers than needed, and about less than half of them really know how to manage a team. Some of them are young, power hungry, cliquey and open to choosing favourites. They are terrible with confrontation, and you aren't told about what you did wrong until you feel it's too late. Gaslighting to the max. The sales staff do not feel valued and everyone feels worked against. So the turnover rate lately has been ridiculously high. There are no systems in place to train younger management properly, while there are staff reviews, there are no opportunities for formal or anonymous feedback for management from staff. 

It's a beautiful place, and the staff are all great. It's just to bad that they don't feel secure or happy there. Come here if you need cash in between finding something better.

So basically, we get paid maybe a dollar above minimum wage if we are lucky and the pressure from managers is insane.  We are not allowed to speak to each other on the floor yet all the managers are blabbing.  They expect us to clean the store as they fired the weekly cleaners.  As sales people we did not get hired to clean.  They do not pay a fair wage for Vancouver BC.  How can they expect us to live off so little and they increase all the prices in store? Every year you receive a mandatory merit increase of literally pennies.  If the store slows down they want to send everyone home.  So they expect us to give away our hours when we already don’t make any money working here.  They pressure you to go home early if it’s slow.  This place is by far the worst place I’ve ever worked.  

The energy of the workday varies based on foot traffic. At peak times it can be stressful/demanding. As long as you have a genuine appreciation for the product you will at least find it somewhat interesting trying to help customers create the quality of space they want. Pay is pooled which is nice so as not to create too much competitiveness but they also keep you updated throughout the day on who is the top seller which gives you a bit of motivation. I think more could be done to foster the feeling of a sales “team” and a friendly environment but that could be a store-by-store thing! Definitely didn’t seem to be any much opportunity for growth or upward movement within the company from this position

CB2 in-store offers positions of either sales associates, stock associates, or customer service associates. There is friendly cooperation across all areas. The environment for customer service associates is often fastpased but for the most part physically relaxed. Very little opportunity for growth and raises within in-store positions - which is why most workers tend to be part-time employees who are also students, who leave after about a year or two.

I had worked there as a seasonal hire and overall I liked my time there, However I had some workers make me feel uncomfortable and not really respectful at times. Working 2 jobs at the time was difficult because that other job needed me there pretty often and I had a good experience with some of the managers at CB2 about scheduling, However there were a few that didn't understand that I have another job so it was difficult a bit. But overall I liked it there.


This place is unbelievable.  They expect you to do above and beyond work but do nothing to increase you wage more than literally pennies in a year… how does that even cover my rent increase??? 

Don’t expect for any of your employees to care about doing anything correctly, and honestly, when you’re screwing people over.  

This job is crazy.  Just don’t work here.  

Don’t work here unless you want to be hounded every three minutes to talk to customers and sell, sell, sell. If you don’t meet outrageous sales targets then you’ll be reprimanded. They expect you to look amazing and sell as if you’re not getting paid minimum wage with zero commission. 

This amazing company took me on with no furniture background and gave me the opportunity to grow as both a sales person and a person in general. When you are new they give you lots of training and they really make you feel supported while you are learning the product, systems and during initial interactions with customers!

WORST WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT!! Job culture in theory is good but is not implemented at store leave. No work and life balance along with below minimum wage hourly pay, the commission structure is pathetic compared to other high-end furniture retailers.

Typical retail company. Most enjoyable part of the job are the co-workers. Best for suited for students or job seekers interested in part-time work.
