The work environment is always clean and comfortable. There’s coffee, tea, the occasional sweet treat, and heat or A/C when needed. We’re treated to a branch lunch once a month and there is an annual company BBQ that we are welcome to bring our families to – and there’s also an annual Christmas party. 

The people here are great; some of us hang out together outside of work. Makes the work day a little more enjoyable when you’re working alongside people you like. There’s a number of long-term employees still working here, and that is always a positive thing to see. Management is personable, not some unseen face that you only interact with over an intercom. 

I’d definitely say that CBS encourages advancement. They have their own internal “university” for people who want to train to get on the counter. They also offer in-person training with vendors. Personally, I started with the company as receptionist, and am now head of the Marketing department, so advancement happens if you show interest and have the drive. They want to help you succeed so they can too.

Micro management is prevalent, and each manager seems to make their own rules. Raises are small and rare. 

Owner questioned anyone claiming a mental health issue. I don't think he believes they're real. He also had all the security monitors set up in his office and spent a good part of every day just watching everyone.  

Overtime: My department only got overtime pay in early covid, otherwise they paid your base rate. Except for late October, they require mandatory overtime for all employees (not necessarily managers though) at all locations on a weekend to count inventory (usually Halloween weekend).

What I learned? Watch out for "additional duties as assigned." I saw multiple people leave and not get replaced. Instead they spread the work out to existing employees, but expected the same results with no overtime. 

Most enjoyable part? Coworkers are largely fantastic. 

Least enjoyable part? My manager prioritized volume over accuracy. Financial reporting needs to be accurate, so I found this very frustrating. 

Working at CBS Parts has been an extremely disappointing experience due to the toxic work environment created by the supervisor. The supervisor regularly speaks to staff in a rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional manner, which has caused low morale and constant tension in the workplace. Many employees feel uncomfortable speaking up because concerns are ignored or dismissed.

What makes the situation worse is that management and HR appear unwilling to take employee complaints seriously. Multiple staff members have raised concerns, yet nothing changes. It’s no surprise that employees continue to leave because of the unhealthy atmosphere and lack of support from leadership.

A workplace should be built on respect, professionalism, and communication, but unfortunately that has not been the experience here. Until management and HR start addressing these ongoing issues, I would not recommend this company to others seeking a positive work environment.

Typical day was great. For the first hour. You'll pick or receive incoming shipments, put them away and repeat. Careful though, you'll constantly catch yourself at a lose-lose situation, as opinions change daily. 

Management doesn't care, never will. That's the core of the issues with this place. 
They will run you dry and expect you to burn yourself out. The turnover is largely due to the work culture, and they know exactly who the problem is, yet they condone and promote them. No one wants to be spoken down to on a daily basis, and/or work in a warehouse atmosphere fueled by a hateful woman. 

I learned to stand up for my fellow coworkers and myself. Doesn't work, so I left. 

Most enjoyable part is driving the half broken forklift and chatting with the select few employees who don't live on being miserable and to slice the tension once and a while.

Honestly thay would walk you through what you were struggling with and make sure you knew how to handle lots of stuff

Vary friendly and super compassionate 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would arrive at work around 8 for my shift and I would ship and Received shipments coming in something if we were shot handed. I would pull parts for orders and make sure thay were put on a respective shipping company that the company wants to deliver

A typical day for inside sales can be quite busy, we handle a high volume of retail and phone sales in addition to online and email orders.  I’m constantly learning and understanding more of our industry. My managers both are understanding and accommodate a work/life balance which is hard to find in most workplaces. Our team works well together and we have a lot of fun, the hardest part of our job can be keeping up to the pace on the busiest days and the most enjoyable would be working with our inside sales team and the customers we help!

Hours were not flexible at all. Set schedule as per their choice, and no time off (no exceptions) unless paid vacation.

 Days were often slow. Team was amazing, management was not. Workplace culture was amazing and best ever, amongst the coworkers. 

Hardest part was dealing with management. Most enjoyable? Seeing the coworkers and working along side them. They made work an enjoyable place to be.

You will not receive a raise. If you ask you may, but many people still got declined a raise.

most jobs done throughout the warehouse or for drivers are usually pretty stress free, however some of them may be lengthy. Lots of the people in the warehouse are very friendly and easy to get along with, however some of the counterman and management do a great job at ruining the good moods.

Well working in the brake shop isn't very good especially when your Forman plays a same race better treatment

Working in the brake shop is hard especially when you have to work outside

Rampant nepotism. Middle management is a pressure cooker due to owner’s unreal expectation. 0 employee support. Won’t back up their own employees. Old school “customer is always right” attitude. Will do anything for a “percieved” good customer, to the point of losing money. ridiculously mismanaged at the top.
