At typical day at work for me starts as soon as I walk in the door.
I carry a phone at home and am usually up to date on any on going problems. I have usually two or three people through my door
before ten minutes have past. The management is very supportive
and are all ways wanting us to  improve our service and cut costs.
My co-works are good hard working people. We don't agree on
everything but are all ways able to get the job done.
The hardest part of my job is the phone calls in the middle of the night or the weekend. But there aren't too many.
The best part of my job is when I can work out a problem when
other couldn't.
It seems like I learn something new everyday and I believe
that will continue.

CGT was family owned, operated and run as a caring family. Owner and employees looked out for one another and their customers. Once it was sold it seemed people quickly became replaceable for no apparent reason other than cheaper labour and/or using the new owners own people. Unionized staff were overheard saying such things as, “It feels like I am working in a prison now!” and “I wonder how long they are even going to keep the Canadian plant open for.”.
Sadly it would appear that money/profit is more important than people who work hard to make it for the new owner. If you are ethical and have any kind of a job DON’T give it up taking a chance on losing everything you worked your life for by going to work at CGT. I can almost guarantee that you and your family will pay dearly and live to regret it. We did!

Before new ownership CGT used to be a great place to work.  New management wanted to reinvent the wheel and consequently have lost a huge amount of experienced staff, and replaced them with cheap inexperienced people.  Nickel and diming of salary staff (especially front-line supervisors and managers) has caused some unrest.  Not a lot of good leadership from upper management.  Most issues are typical of today's corporate mentality. Expected to work almost every weekend.  Workers in union make more on a holiday than their supervisors due to salary cutbacks in OT rates.  The place slowly drains the the life out of you.

Complete rumor mill. This place can be a cesspool at times. Management is poor. Each dept has one or two supervisors who know what theyre doing. The rest are learning. Senior management is a joke. They hire kids to do mens jobs and the employees know it and make fun of it. Some of the older leaders have been disrespected and fallen by the way side while the new breed are mismanaging it into the ground with what appears to be no consequences. Truly a shame as it WAS a good place to work. CGT has gone from a facility to have a great career in, to a mere layover while you look for brighter more positive employment. They run both the workers and supervisors family life into the ground with little or no regard.

Very 1950's type factory to work in. Male dominated workforce. Behind the times management. Reactive not proactive. Change is not encouraged. 
The upper management changes on a quarterly basis. Fire and rethink their decisions and rehire those fired. Not a very respectful place to work at. No loyalty to employees. They pride themselves  Health and safety yet do little to promote that actual culture.

Horrible work environment - alot of gossip and group think. Management has no clue what they are doing. Its whatever flavor of the month.  Safety is an after thought because of cost. Constant fire alarms going off and blowouts.  Horrible dirty environment. No regard for people and their lives its all about production.  The hard working people (hourly and salary) get rewarded with more work. This place has changed so much its not even worth interviewing here. 

a mix of extremely Senior employees with many years of service and employees with low seniority. A very high turnover with employees with low seniority. 

Generally the senior exec have a very low level of competence, very unsophisticated, non-strategic,  Senior level exec openly conflict with each other, on overall company direction.

Continual leadership changes from supervisors to senior management. The long term managers are glorified bullies. The general atmosphere at CGT is immature - constant gossip on production floor and in the office, favoritism. People try to rise above it but not for long.

Busy fast paced and exciting learned a lot

A fast paced environment that required quick thinking and decision making. I had to learn to make fast decisions in dealing with very large accounts on the off shifts when there is the least support. I had a great team around me which made the job run smooth. A typical day would be machine assessment, covering these machines with overtime and making sure jobs were on schedule.
