Places high needs children with untrained staff, often putting said staff and child in unsafe positions. Expects employees to do unpaid work/planning outside of work hours. Pretends to be a progressive and accepting work place and I recieved very little accomodations or compassion as a disabled person. Was mocked and gossiped about by upper management to my colleagues regarding my mental health issues. Tried demoting me after 2 years of dedicated work.  Seeks out unexperienced workers or newcomers and completely takes advantage of them. Run away.

Insane expectations for the wage, puts high needs children with people with little to no experience with little willingness to properly train them,often operating understaffed and over ratio, upper management offers little to no support, shows clear favouritism within the company, little opportunity to move up within the company and an absolutely abysmal turnover rate left company feeling uncared for and replaceable despite them not being able to keep centers staffed. 

High expectations of staff, Managers and or Supervisors often have little to no personnel  training or concerns for employees. Work place culture is do what your told, toe the company line. To much expectations on employees, too many programs, to many regulations of management, very few staff resources. Most educators just trying to do their best, connecting with kids and families. Programs have best intentions, lack of managerial supports and staff training/support makes working under such conditions intolerable. 

They ask a lot of their employees. Aside from regular class planning, (following a chart to make sure nothing is missed) There is also Learning stories, Class Dojo pictures and texts sent daily to the parents, plus student evaluations and detailed individual education plans 2x per year. They try to give an hour of planning time a week to each employee unless they are short staffed. The pay off is more engaged children with less issues. There are monthly staff meetings.

They hire anyone. Don't provide enough hours to do preparation required. Don't hold staff accountable to do their job or show up on time. Management not on site. Educators have no support from management. Often under staffed. No training.

Management/higher ups unhelpful and lack ability to admit wrongs or take blame for their own negligence.

Supervisors who rarely show up, put duties on casual, untrained employees.

Salary not enough, expected to do more than you are paid for. However, hires unqualified individuals.

Final thoughts. In order to succeed, administration should be over looked. Take account of all employees leaving because of specific administration. 

The workplace management was messy, no supervisors available to manage the workplace. When available, management decisions and lack of staff made work really hard and unfair. Usually you wouldn’t have any support and all staff would be overworked dealing with too many management problems/ responsibilities. In general understaffed 

Staff are easily over worked and the hiring process is not fair, some non experience and education background staff can be hired by personal connection.
Definitely won't get enough paid at here which makes the working environment negative and full of complaint from most of the staff

I received so much support while working at CHANCES. The supervisors really care about who you are as an individual and support your growth. I have learnt how to effectively problem solve, work as a team player and collaborate with children and families. 

Great workplace. Caring director, team members are inspiring, children are fun to be around. Continuous learning is offered, ECE wage has gone up, RRSP matching program, ample amount of sick time, family sick time and vacation days.
