I had the pleasure of working with wonderful children, which made the job enjoyable and rewarding. I gained valuable experience and had lots of fun, which I greatly appreciated.
However, I did encounter challenges with the team dynamics and management practices. I believe there is room for improvement in terms of consistency and fairness in enforcing rules and policies. Ensuring that all staff members, including management, adhere to the same standards would create a more equitable and supportive work environment. Also, job security was a significant issue.
Overall, while I enjoyed the core aspects of my role, I hope the company addresses these areas for the benefit of future employees and the overall workplace culture.


A typical day consists of opening the store, receiving shipment, creating sku numbers for the boxes, creating space in the back and customer serving. Must be able to educate parents on proper walking shoes. No career advancement opportunities in Ontario back then. I enjoyed the staff which had a great relationship..

Although the job was nothing complicated, the manager had us do a formation for a few things, but not things like doing the deposit. This manager would say bad things about people in her language, as the workers there are mostly Latinas. Whatever you did/ said would put you at risk for your job. She also forced me to work on a day that I was not supposed to, and I had to skip my exam for it. 

Becomes boring very fast, when i worked there it wasn’t paid by commission which is pretty bad considering the work you have to do. Not a bad starting job, but not great long term, very hard to get raises.(extremely cheap) I have to say this jobs allows you to learn the basics of the sellers which is great that’s why i recommend for a first job!

management was horrible , unprofessional and rude.  Didn't train employees professionally leaving them to look dumb when customers asked questions. 
employees were nice fun 
work environment was good when management was not there. 
sloppy kept files. 30 min breaks of 8 hour days

Was a great family friendly, family oriented company to work for.

The job overall was very fast paced around boot season, sandal season and back to school otherwise its very dead so it can get very boring. The only hard part could be that its boring and that some children are difficult to work with but i mean thats normal ! Overall it was not too bad

Management is disorganized , I was suppose to be trained and I wasn't. I was expected to know everything on the first day and sell shoes. Very disorganized no job security no commission only minimum wage 12.50 waste of time.

learned product knowledge on kids shoes and the importance of a properly supported shoe for their foot health. But the management is not considerate to their employees and lacks communication and social skills.

When you walk in to work, your looked down upon
Management is horrible and doesn't help you grow
They do not inform you if you are going to be seasonal or a part-time employee
