CHINOOK DRILLING

Chinook Drilling has gave me the opportunity to experience working on a Drilling rig. It is certainly long and hard days both physically and mentally.  I have to say that you have to be one tough individual to thrive in this environment. The pay is very rewarding for your efforts and i had no issues with any management in my time at Chinook.

A typical day at work consists of working high pace all day with no breaks.
I have learned all about the oil industry for example how to move a rig in to a location set it up drill the well controll the well and process the well .
The hardest part of the job if short change when you switch from nights to days 
Most enjoyable part of the day seeing the crew truck 

I have learnt and grow working with great guys in this company. Very good leadership and fun to work with. everyone work hard to earn living at the same time to keep the company reputation of being one of the competitive company out there.

Good place to work until the NDP got into alberta and wrecked the alberta oil patch, Chinook had there rigs paid for , so there for they chose not to work them at lower day rates starving there men out.

working twelve hr shift, team work, management is good, working in unpredictable weather, working in a team environment and getting the job done in a timely manner

This company was the best company I have worked for in my 26 years in the oil field. They treated me well and always kept me working. I made a lot of close friends working with them as we were all like family

Its a good experience and hard work some of the time. Glad to have done it but its not for me, the life to work ratio is'nt for me.

Fine job presuming you work close to a motel or camp. If not, you can burn a few hours a day commuting. Getting short-changed makes the commute even worse.

I enjoyed my time working for Chinook for years, the nicest iron and the best group of guys I’ve ever worked with. Not just a number with Chinook Drilling 

Good people to work with rig manager and upper management lacking. Upper management favoritism hired people and promoted people with lacking skill ability for certain jobs
