Working as an order picker at CIOT has been one of the most disappointing experiences of my professional life. From the very first day, it was clear that this job was nothing but a dead-end. Here are some of the reasons why working at CIOT as an order picker was a terrible decision:

Terrible Management: The management at CIOT is an absolute nightmare. They are unresponsive, unhelpful, and often dismissive of any concerns or issues raised by employees. There is a clear lack of leadership, and it's obvious that they don't care about the well-being of their employees.

Low Pay: The pay at CIOT is abysmal, especially for the level of physical labor involved in the job. Order pickers are required to work long hours, often in uncomfortable conditions, and are compensated very poorly for their efforts. It's as if they don't value the hard work and dedication of their employees.

Unsafe Working Conditions: The warehouse where order pickers work is a disaster waiting to happen. The safety standards are abysmal, and there is a lack of proper training or equipment. It's a wonder that more accidents don't occur in this environment.

No Career Growth: Working at CIOT as an order picker offers no opportunities for career advancement. There is no training or support for employees to improve their skills or move up within the company. It's a dead-end job with no hope of a better future.

Lack of Benefits: CIOT offers minimal benefits to its employees. There is no health insurance, retirement plan, or any other perks that you might expect from a decent employer. It's clear that they are cutting corners at the expense of their staff.

Toxic Work Environment: The workplace culture at CIOT is toxic and demoralizing. Employees are constantly pitted against each other, and there is a general lack of camaraderie. It's a depressing and demotivating place to work.

Unrealistic Expectations: Order pickers are expected to meet unreasonable quotas, and there is constant pressure to work faster and harder. The workload is often overwhelming, and there is little recognition or appreciation for the effort put in.

In conclusion, working as an order picker at CIOT is a regrettable decision that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. The low pay, terrible management, and lack of opportunities for growth make it a dead-end job. I would strongly advise against considering a position at CIOT if you value your well-being and career prospects.

No clear direction or traing ( partially because no one really knows what to do)  head office in Montreal has no idea what they are doing and they're constantly letting people go to save money , you'll be expected to still answer your phone on weekends or breaks and even holidays despite it being advertised as a 9-5( for some jobs)  and a 4 day work week it's always a struggle to get materials or anything you need to do your job because head office needs to be in control of everything, everyone is constantly miserable and don't expect any pay raises despite them constantly piling on more work even things that weren't in your contract they get you with the "additional duties as assigned or whatever "on the application most of the managers are okay but the rest will throw you under the bus in an instant. If you value your time and look for advancement or progression look elsewhere you will get stonewalled by head office because they only hire corporate positions in Montreal.

Although it's a big company  the family vibe is strong. People are nice and the work is not stressful

The lack of use of technology, papers everywhere! Drives me nuts

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Overall the feel is quite good. However we all have those type of people working with you that just doesn't work, that have a toxicity about them, no matter how you try to avoid or dismantle their behavior, sometimes it's just too much. We have those here, no way around it.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For my position it's a lot on the fly. Some things are set in stone, daily/monthly boxes to check off. All the rest is putting out fires, or working on new projects learning new things. You have to be someone that loves the unpredictability of your day. If so, your good at CIOT

The company director and warehouse manager are both approachable and genuinely supportive, creating a great team atmosphere.

the colleague tends to be uncooperative and makes teamwork more challenging.

The work environment is generally friendly and supportive. A respectful and team-oriented environment that encourages productivity.

A typical day at work would be more productive and pleasant with stronger teamwork and cooperation among colleagues

Unlike most workplaces, Ciot doesn’t abide by “cookie cutter” training procedures. It’s mainly learn as you go and sink or swim. During my time working at Ciot, I observed crucial steps missed for new employees to flourish to their fullest; as training isn’t regulated properly. Every day something changes.. what was correct before will now be wrong and so on and so forth. If you like consistency in the workplace, Ciot may not the job for you.









I am keen to do something new for company as management always appreciate and encourage you to be better all the time with their valuable time, suggetion and support to achieve the best results of the task.
Plus even colleagues/seniors also make you feel value added part of team and give you support to grow.

I started with Ciot when I was 26 years old. I was young and very ambitious to learn. People there were very helpful and that was one of the reason for my success. Although I moved 4 hours away, if not I would probably would of retired with the company. The owner upper management were really good to me. Great company overall. 

ciot is very knowledgeable natural stone and tile company.  they have amazing workers there, fun and energetic.

for my position, i learn alot on natural stones and imported goods from other country. every one is willing to teach and help out. so i was never left in the dark when help is needed.

There are a few workplaces which holistically qualify as welcoming, CIOT is one of them. Management is approachable and friendly. People are valued in real sense, from security personnels to students to staff to teachers, everyone is happy. 
         
  

If you have a job offer in the sample department, don't take it. Management no respect for their employees. Not very well paid at CIOT. The people that get advanced are family members of the boss.
