I want to approach this review as more of a comparison to other jobs and companies that I have been associated with, but it’s important to also state that this position is quite unique, and you should not apply to the landscape department for CLV Group expecting it to be like an average landscaping occupation. That said, you will find many advantages working for CLV Group, but remember that this is a rental apartment and property management company. It is not a landscape company. It’s larger than that, and is full of many different titles, paths and opportunities. 
You will enjoy this job for what it is, if you approach with an open mind and no expectations like I have. 
You will also enjoy not having to work yourself to death, and not working into the later hours of the evening, like you would in a traditional landscape position. 
There is no high, demanding, and unreasonable expectations. They just expect you to care about the work you do and express that in your work. 
The company will also throw events and parties for their staff, which they seem to put good effort and budget into. 
50 Hour weeks are optional and not a minimum that is required, like you may find with other landscaping positions. 
You will receive all stat. holidays, plus some additional time off due to Thunderstorms and a few weeks of paid vacation time, which is great. 3 paid sick days are also provided for emergencies.
The atmosphere is fairly laid back here as well. Stress takes a back seat most of the time as there is not a heavy push on deadlines. You just keep steady and can take time to enjoy the work and the weather. 
Year round work is another perk of working here. You will be maintaining the external grounds of our properties in lawn care, gardening, and snow removal. Winter hours will consistently include at least 40 hour work weeks. Options of being a plow driver or on a sidewalk and walkways crew, are available for the winter season. Work may move inside at times to assist property maintenance teams, if other work loads are light. 
Lastly, it goes without saying that the provided benefits plan is superb and you won’t have to fear when unexpected costs in life come your way,  along with a boot allowance that resets yearly, to help assist with buying a good set of boots to keep you dry and comfortable, all day long. 
It’s fair to say that no place or position is perfect. There is drawbacks to be aware of. To reiterate, this is a landscape position at a NON-Landscape company. The budget for equipment and tools is not as large as others, and there is often some patience and waiting required to acquire things you will need. There is not a large amount of staff or equipment overall, but you will be able to complete what is required of you. Everything will be tended to as well, just not always in a timely manner. You may find that the process of things or how things are done, to be different than expected. Keep an open mind. Overall, the structure of the department is different and still growing. To bring this to an end, there is many great things about having this position with this company, but there is a few drawbacks. The potential is huge, and it’s exciting to think about what could be next for the growth of this department and the whole company. I’m confident that one day, landscape department will be on par with stand-alone landscape companies in many different regards, but perhaps not in staffing numbers as that may be beyond what is necessary for the company. Regardless of what the end game looks like, I’m excited to be a part of the journey and my experience has been mostly positive. I’m hopeful for what the future brings and how my department may expand in the coming years. Thank you CLV, for this opportunity. 


I set up in house pest control for this group of companies.
I trained new employees helped with technical skills, set up operating license by using my license..purchased pesticides for the,
They did not fulfill all the promises, never raised pay, even after 3 years, never gave me company vehicle until after 2 years...then did not allow me to use it even for groceries....while all senior managers, supervisors,,,,all used their company vehicles for their on travel.

I told them they cant have a pest control manager who is not certified, it is against the law...to be come manager of pest control and choose treatments , either spray or powder...etc..

I asked for raise and to be promoted as manager, or I will leave ...they never replied, and a day before my deadline they suddenly asked for car keys etc... they acted like mafia, their human resource manager never replied my emails about my proposal, even not paid my vacation pay for three years,,,until I threatened to go to media and started writing on social media. Then they contacted me fast...and paid some of it..no bonus..nothing..!
Dishonest , old people dont want to leave this group of company.
Maintenance people , cleaners, all paid too low..a lot of work.
They buy old buildings and renovate ...and there comes renoviction...most buildings would be highly infested with bed bugs roaches...They keep trying less educated cleaners to train for pest control who kept failing in written ministry tests
I sent emails to CEO about this situation he never replied.
I really am mad at interent/CLV for not respecting my contribution .
Now they used license of another pest control technician without her knowledge to get operator license, which is liable to a law suit but the technician lady is afraid.
Stay away as cleaner, maintenance worker, you may try customer co-ordinator position as a starter job paying 30k...that is it.!

I started my career with CLV Group in December of 2017 as a Cleaner/Handyperson. I knew from my initial telephone screening that I would enjoy working for this company. The lady that performed my telephone interview was very professional and upbeat, which made the overall experience more enjoyable. 

When I was called in for a formal interview, the experience was phenomenal. I interviewed with the Property Manager for the Hamilton Region who was also very professional and upbeat. This experience alongside my telephone interview experience assured me that I was making the right decision. 

As a cleaner/handyperson, it was my responsibility to ensure our standards for our residents were met, if not exceeded. At CLV Group, we strive to provide excellence for our residents. This included ensuring all building common areas were kept in an very clean and fresh state, detail cleaning any residential suites that became available, miscellaneous maintenance repairs (plumbing etc.), and striving for top notch customer service. 

As much as I enjoyed my role as a Cleaner/Handyperson, I wanted to grow. I expressed my interest in Office Administration/Sales and to make a long story short - They listened.

In one year, I advanced from my role as a Cleaner/Handyperson into the role of Property Administrator with vast array of new responsibilities and chances to grow. 

All in all, CLV Group is a fantastic place to start and nurture your career. The environment, culture, and support from management and colleagues alike is unmatched. 

Never have I ever felt more "a part of something" than I do now since beginning my journey with CLV Group.

This is a relevant review that is accurate and genuine. As a Customer Care Coordinator, you will embark on key responsibilities that include being the first line of contact, building new relationships with existing/new residents, multi-tasking, sales, and time management. You will be working in an inclusive environment with like-minded individuals who are friendly and engaging. A company’s culture is extremely important to me and CLV Group encourages collaboration to create a positive workplace environment. I see my colleagues as true friends, which boosts productivity and makes the atmosphere more enjoyable. For individuals who are eager to learn more about the Real Estate industry, this role is a terrific option.

You schedule tours and creativity comes within your ability to deliver; everyone’s approach is different which makes the role more personalized. The opportunity to implement your current skill-set while improving your craft makes the role truly feel fresh and exciting everyday.

My typical day at work would start with reading my emails recieved. After that we would get straight to work wth our respective duties such as processing rent payments, rent reciepts, credit checks, application approvals, maintenance requests, answering phone calls from tenants, creating property notices, updating tenant information, lease signings, etc.

I learned how a Property Managment company runs and what things they are responsible for.

Managment was less than organized most of the time but this was due to a lack of staff members.

Most Co-workers were hard workers, a few were less than qualified for their position and couldn't complete their job expectations

The hardest part of the job would be trying to keep order in the chaos of a property managment company because we were so severley understaffed the work overload seemed impossiblle at times.

The most enjoyable part of this position was never having a dull moment. There was always something to be done or somene to help and I love being in a work environment that I feel is helping me learn new things and grow with the company.

Stay away from this company. The management is really poor and disorganized. They will spy on you to make sure that you are doing everything and dicate you to do more than expect. They do not respect or appreciate you, or ask for your feedback.

They create the schedule and change it in the last minute, expecting you to be fine with it. Some weeks you are scheduled 7-8 days in a row before you get a day off. 

The pay is also horrible, very low pay, and there is no job secuirty. Probation is set at 6 months, they will use you and once they are done with you, they will fire you.

The culture at this company is very toxic. There is also no one to go for help when you need it.

You are expected to work on weekends with management being off. The management has nothing better to do but to drive around and spy on you. If you leave the office to go grab a lunch or coffee, they assume that you not been to work.

No Staff parking, you have to park in tenant's parking. 

What I value the most at CLV Group is that we all have a voice. I am constantly encouraged to share my ideas and expertise and I see the impact I have in the short and long term as we keep expanding our business in Montreal.

If growth is as important to you as it is to me, this is the right place to be at! I have learned a lot during the past 6 months thanks to the support of all senior managers, and particularly, my manager. She always makes herself available for questions and brainstorming sessions, which accelerates my learning further. She also gives me regular feedback and makes me feel as being part of the solution as we work together on innovative initiatives.

We are very team-oriented: Being in real estate, we might be working from different offices, but we are all highly mobile and often work together. I always get to meet different people, especially when we get together for events that the company organizes for us to spend more time with each other and have fun – I love that!

This company's culture is terrible. It's a revolving door! Turnover is extremely high and management doesn't look at themselves to see what they could change to prevent it. They don't care. 

It's extraordinarily unorganized. There's no communication, they lack proper training, and management is all over the place.

They only give their employees 3 sick days a year and they seem to believe that's industry standard. It's a joke. Especially in a post-covid world. They don't value the heath and wellness of their employees and they don't care if their employees are happy. They expect overtime. They expect respect and loyalty, but don't give employees any in return.

They boast about being flexible and allowing employees to have a say, but this is far from accurate. They want employees in the office every day, they don't provide flexibility in terms of working hours, and all employee feedback seems to fall on deaf ears.

The HR department at this company is in need of a serious overhaul. 

I have worked with CLV Group for two years now and continue to enjoy working for this company every day. The Customer Care Coordinator position provides great experience for recent graduates looking for an entry level role. Employees are given a lot of responsibility and are offered the tools and support needed to complete all tasks. All employees are friendly, easy to get along with, and will support you in any way they can. I am comfortable asking questions that I have because I know my colleagues are always happy to help. The company hosts great events where you can meet employees from every department. This provides a great opportunity to put a face to a name and connect with co-workers from different regions. It is a great feeling to be a part of an industry that is always growing. Each day employees are given new opportunities to learn and develop. If you enjoy a fast-paced, friendly and constantly evolving environment this is the right place for you!
