What is the best part of working at the company?
CMI Concierge & Security, Inc. Is one of the best companies that I worked for.  They treated their employees with care, like a family.  Listens to your suggestions for the improvement of the company.  They are reasonable in accepting your requests.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
One of the most stressful parts of working as a Concierge is the demanding needs of the clients with high expectations and I often face unpredictable situations when it’s almost end of my shift, which can be challenging sometimes to fulfill.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and culture at CMI typically emphasize collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to customer service.  Many employees appreciate a supportive atmosphere where teamwork is encouraged and individual contributions are valued.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me at CMI is giving a briefing to discuss the day's priorities and  any important updates for the next Concierge on duty. Time management would be key, as balancing urgent request from residents and building needs.  As the day wraps up, reflecting on accomplishments and planning for the next day for a smooth transition into the following work day.

I work as a Head Concierge. There is absolutely no career advancement in this company past my current positions, which means you will never be earning more than $17-19 per hour.
Regular Concierges earn around $14 - 15. 

Company culture is non-existent due to the frankly incredible level of turnaround (6+ staff members in less than 8 months) and just how utterly impersonal upper management are. 
I currently work in a low stress building, but I have worked in a few others where you are normally required to work above and beyond your pay grade.
Building dependent, expect to be treated like dirt by the strata council or management of the property and like others have said CMI will always take the side of the latter two if a dispute ever arises. 

The main benefits of working in this type of position are the friendships you can make with some of the residents and you can generally have steady hours if you're a Head Concierge or the Area Manager likes you. 

If you are a new immigrant to Vancouver(like me) this job might be suitable for the short term, but anything beyond that and it's simply not worth it due to low pay/career advancement.

I have worked for this employer at a few sites. This job is not stressful. The management of CMI does not micromanage their staff, which is a positive thing. Employees' FT hours are guaranteed, but occasionally staff have the opportunity to work OT.

The most interesting aspect of the job is the enforcement of the strata bylaws and rules outlined by the strata corporation regarding resident conduct and behaviour. Investigating, writing, and submitting Bylaw Violation Reports to the Strata Property Manager is one of the responsibilities of this job role.

You will get to know a variety of people while working in the condo buildings. Depending on where you are posted, the Strata Council members can be hard to please at times.

Overall, I would recommend working for CMI only for two reasons. A stepping stone to a better career elsewhere or a job to pass time for retirees.

The buildings you work in are exquisite. I loved patrolling, and felt like I was providing a useful service. I didn't feel like I had a secure position. One word from a strata property manager, who incidentally didn't live in the building, and I would be gone. Also, there was a report of a dishonest concierge which colored the company's reputation. It would be nice if they matched the pay rate of other concierge companies. For the work and the schedule, the pay sucks. But at Christmas, the owners and residents are generous and more than friendly. I loved the residents and owners, and felt fortunate to provide concierge service for them. 

The best part of the job is dealing with the the tenants, you make some great friendships and relationships and also with the strata members. I have a great time at work.


What I'm not happy about is the pay, for the amount of responsibility you have, and being the face of a luxury building, you would expect to at least get a proper living wage. it's even worse for somebody who isnt a "head concierge" regular concierge's make 14$ an hour.
completely unacceptable, it's the poverty line in a city like this. it also creates toxic work environments when people's personal lives are not taken into consideration by employers.

Mostly feel energetic and satisfied at work.
Everyday learning somethinf new, mostly regarding technology and canadian lifestyle
Manage tasks easily sometime challegeing with team support.
Multicultural place to work with memeber from different regions.
Difficlt to deal with hyper, aggresive customers. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is always when customers respects the receptionist and show gratitude to their efforts doing for them to keep them safe and slove their everyday problems. 

Terrible company to work for. Super high turnover. No company culture. Long hours and low pay. While I was there for 6 months 4 employees were fired from my building alone. They terminate people with no cause by paying a small severance. Wish I didn't bother to work for them, lot of other concierge companies available.

I’ve worked for CMI about a year now and their shifts aren’t too great. A lot of lounging around but you can pick it up by going on patrols. Residents can be troublesome depending on the site. Overall you get paid for what you do which is next to nothing.

CMI Concierge and Security is a Great company to work for. They are very professional, they are incredibly accommodating, good with hours and pay, not to mention if you needed to be relocated closer to home they would make that happen. I would work for this company again and I hope most people will have the same review.

My experience with this company has been one of the most disappointing and unprofessional job application processes I have ever encountered.

after about a week of silence, I gave up on this horrible comapny.
