CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions

My experience was horrendous. I quit a job to work at CMP considering they were closer to home. It was a job as a customer account manager. On my very first day, I pull up a chair next to my supervisor to start learning. Barely 15-20 minutes worth of work emails to read (for a Monday morning). Then spends time looking into personal emails such as an upcoming vacation. I am then sent to my desk (to do ???). Supervisor spends the rest of the day on the companies social club (which is really nice btw), so that's day 1. Thinking okay, they are actually going to show me something on day 2, no more of the same. I spent 90% of my days there not doing anything as I had been taught nothing and given no responsibilities. It got boring, really boring. After a month, I was let go (unsurprisingly) saying it wasn't a good fit. Other managers and supervisors at the company did seem very friendly and professional. Salary was decent and job perks seemed very nice. Your opinion of the company will greatly depend on your manager. The office manager (the supervisor's boss), doesn't seem to know what goes on in the office so as long as your supervisor is professional you should be fine.

CMP is a great company to work for. Upper Management is transparent, comprehensive and consistent. Like any company, there is great things and some less desirable moments, but having experienced other companies, CMP is really a leader in both its industry and employment region. CMP offers a competitive salary for most positions and a great benefits package, it has everything you need with the exception of pension plan. They have insurance for medication, massage allowance, life insurance and DENTAL! Some good people and some GREAT people to work with, they hire a culturally diverse workforce, so it is great to see the proof of inclusivity. If you are a determined, ethical hard worker, you will have opportunities to advance in the company. 

The management team love to pat their backs by saying cmp is one of the best managed companies in canada but anyone who works on the floor knows for a fact we can't get 2 weeks of proper management. The only reason they have that title is because they paid for it. They have managers to manage their managers and if any of them make a mistake it falls on the people who work on the floor. 

One time they had everyone in a meeting to tell us the order wasn't going to be complete in time and said we're not leaving this room until we have enough people who volunteer to work on the weekend because they didn't start the job we knew was comming months before while they were laying people off.

Very busy.  Interaction with employees is great.  Have advanced in my career dut to opportunities to attend various training sessions for my position. CMP is family oriented.  Employees are from various nationalities and we heve learned from each other. Enjoyable part is to satisfy my customers who are the employées.  Happy employees make their day easier and more productive. Hardest part  discussions with employees who are living difficulty times in their lives.

Very disappointed in this company. Just a big revolving door, as they hire workers only to fire them once a contract is fulfilled (witnessed over 30 layoffs last month alone). Very unorganized, never have the parts we need, and sometimes have no work for days. Very noisy environment too. Management arent attentive at all when you mentioned certain issues too. They couldnt care less.

Its also almost impossible to be a permanent employee at the company, which makes it easier for them to fire you without a valid reason. Stay away!

The culture the is beyond awesome. Very emoloyee oriented. Understanding and great clean work enviroment.

Cannot think of any cons to working with CMP, it's all pros. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent, very family oriented engaging company events. Professional.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Steady, passes quickly. Fun if love to learn.

Great team, good company. Problem of communication at the top. Great chance of progression in the company. If you show up everyday and do your job, you will have a good salary and chance to grow. They are adjusting everyone salary in relation with inflation.

Money is good and there are some perks but supervisors do not communicate at all.  Alot of rumour mongering goes on.  Very dangerous place to work as there is very little space.  Pallets placed anywhere and everywhere.  People constantly complaining about it.  Really bad ambience.

Good place to work, good hours and everyone is very friendly. They understand if you have family obligations and overtime is not mandatory. They have a great social club for family activities abd discounts. Located outside of Montreal so no traffic to deal with.
