A typical day at the Calmar Co-op gas bar is usually very long and taxing on the feet and knees, but the day is really determined by the weather, the day of the week, and the price of fuel.
  
While working here, I've learned how to deal with flammable petrol products, including how to safely and properly fill propane vessels. As well as how to deal with less than ideal customers.
  
Management is very understanding and will more than gladly allow a work schedule around your own schedule. If something arises, such as being sick or unable to work a certain day or even an unexpected event such as a family member passing away, they will accommodate for such things. 
  
The co-workers are all friendly and will usually crack jokes when there is time to do so.
  
The hardest part of the job would be finding time to sweep and clean the pumps and garbage bins on a busy day.
  
The most enjoyable part of the job other than quitting time is when you have a moment to sit down and have a moment to breathe and think.

I`ve never had issues with anything this company whats so ever,
Mangers are awesome, they have known who to hire, and who to avoid to make the most effective work team. make the work flow and team as stable as possible. 
I have on the other hand is that I don`t care much how they are pushing so much added nonsense to a job that wont be able to amount to very much.any where else. i just want to come in do my job the best i can and leave, but nope steady getting more and more aggravating to deal with and i just need to get out of this loop.

Good atmosphere.  Some co-workers were okay.  Co-Workers seemed to not appreciate one taking time to do great job.  Example, customers complimented the manager on the clean washrooms when I did them, the others thought I should take less time cleaning them, even if I came in early!  Some of the staff did take advantage,  If I was outside serving customers at the pump, they would not help unless there were four or more.  Expected me to be out to help if a second driver pulled up.  The management treated me fairly, but the head office responded to unknown complaints, giving little info on the complaints.

A typical day of work was opening the store, pump gas into cars, help run till, clean store, and stock shelves
I learned how to work hard and quick, constantly moving between departments to accomplish several tasks throughout the day.
The manager is the kindest most hardworking person I've ever seen, who cares so much about each and every staff member.
The workplace environment gives of a very warm, family-like feeling that makes the job feel less like a job and more like something that you want to attend.
The hardest part of the job was leaving it, if it wasn't for university, this would be a job i could work at forever.
The most enjoyable part was the kind coworker that always kept you smiling and laughing and making me enjoy the day.

-you had to be sensitive to your customers and try to have the items they requested the next time they came in.
-had to learn when the busiest time would be and be prepared for it
-teach students and new cashiers that it was important to do all work properly so it did not have to be done again.
-reporting to management about co-workers progress or lack of, and advise weather they would be a good fit for the store
-being able to enjoy down time with staff and be able to get back to work as fast as possible

a day of work consisted pumping fuel and helping customers. I learned that it is very hard to keep everyone happy in a very busy work environment.

Management was friendly and easy to get along with.

The culture was very friendly and everyone got to know everyone quickly. The hardest part of the job was trying to stay out of other peoples way and trying to keep the customers as satisfied as possible as it was always so busy.

The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing new people and familiar people every day, it helped the long days go by faster.

When first starting at Co-op the job was wonderful the people where pleasant and the benefits and perks are great. however once the company promoted a gas bar manager to general gas bar manager, everything went down hill. you will be singled out and bullied for expecting the standards to be upheld.  You will have many false complaints sent to HR. He will lie and do what he can to push you out of the company to keep his positing secure. Until otter removed this issue don't bother it will only hurt your resume!

Most locations are critically understaffed and the workers are suffering for it, yet the company continues to build dozens of new locations across Canada while we burn ourselves out trying to keep the stores afloat on a daily basis. Most days you can't even take 10 minutes to eat or you risk falling behind in the excessive amount of tasks that are expected of you. I knew their bottom line was all that mattered the moment I had to work 3 consecutive 10 hour shifts while sick after my partner tested positive for Covid19. I've been back in the job market ever since.

have to listen to negativity by two co-workers talking smack about other people and other employees. Management at the gas bar was alright not the best, always assuming employees are gunna try to steal things with the feeling of unnecessary pressure. Worked in brutal weather conditions like heavy and freezing cold blizzards, pouring rain with hail and super windy storms as well as much as a beating that sounds we were not aloud tips would be terminated if you were to do so.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Meeting and dealing with the regular customers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The animosity between the morning shift and the afternoon shift.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nobody seems to really have any work ethics there. The young kids play on their phones throughout their shift and stand around and do nothing related to work except serve the customers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, between customers and getting the chore sheet worked on.
