CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION

A typical work day would include of copying and distributing hospital papers to co-workers, and organizing financial hospital papers. With an experience like this, not only have i improved several skills, ranging from organizational, to communicative and to responsibility skills, but have learned new computing and organizational skills that will be utilized in the future. The most difficult part of the job was to complete the distribution of hospital paper between employees, there was a large quantity of papers that was required to be organized and distributed in a timely and effective manner. The most enjoyable part of the job was quiet setting that the workplace is situated in, allowing for more effective engagement between employer and employees.

I enjoyed the challenges of both workplaces. H & R Block helped me improve my customer relations, I enjoy meeting new people and being of assistance. Strathroy-Caradoc Municipal Office this the sort of enviroment I thrive in, new challenges, constant learning and adapting as well as a friendly atmosphere, almost like a workplace family. Neither workplace was difficult as I could keep pace with my co-workers and was able to lend assistance when required. I learned there is more going on behind the scenes than most people know and there is always something new to be learned or upgraded.

- Typical day at work, put stuff away in my locker for the day, advise that I was there to confirm what I was doing for the day, asked any questions or concerns and completed all my tasks.
- I learned how to do an oil change, rotate tires, change and clean brakes, learned some fundamentals on the tire machines.
- Management was fair and was there when I needed them.
- Workplace culture was positive and people always available to help
- Hardest part of the job was the tire machines, such as balancing the tires.
- Enjoyable part was learning new things with different vehicles

I am currently in grade.11 and I am taking co-op which is a class that puts you in any placement/workplace that you choose. I chose a daycare, so I work at sunshine nursery school every morning for 3 and a half hours. I do not get paid for this, instead in the end I will recieve two credits, for school. I enjoy working here a lot, its very welcoming and all the co-workers are very friendly! I've learned a lot about working with children, just from working here for a month or so. I really enjoy working with children, and I feel that I can always get along with them, I am responsible and know what I am doing.

A day would consist of organizing the store and interacting with customers. I've learned to work fast and consistently in this type of work environment. Management seems to be handled well. The workplace culture seemed to be similar to a normal day in the life with your peers. The most difficult part of the job is when you are faced with a deadline or with a task you understand very little about. The most enjoyable part of the job is just getting your work done, and completed.

A typical day as working as a Front Desk Associate at GoodLife would be, signing people in too the gym so they can workout, conversing with all of the members and answering phones and ensuring complete customer satisfaction. The management was always very busy and the co-workers were so genuinely nice and positive all the time. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting all the members and hearing their weight loss journeys.

Just Sweat Fitness Studio has a very positive and energetic atmosphere.  A normal day working there would include cleaning, gathering used towels, face cloths and putting them into the washer/dryer than folding them and putting them back to the studio for the clients to use.  I learned lots about different types of muscle groups as well as what to eat and what not to eat for nutrition.

I enjoyed working for all of these companies, because as a CO-OP student, it truly immersed me in the culture of working in the industrial field. Not only was I shown the skills required to succeed as a tradesmen, but my co-workers helped me through difficulties and encouraged me to learn as much as I could.

Position included set design & event co-ordination; The nature of this job is that everyday differs. Daily, the focus is on what needs to be done, ie dealing how to balance certain matters, & situations, within a schedule & budget.
