What is the best part of working at the company?
Spending time with seniors. Being unionized was also beneficial

For me, multiple locations, which were short shifts and I didn't drive

Friendly,  kid of family oriented 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cleaning and preparing meals for seniors. Chatting and learning new things for the seniors.

The company cares mostly about profits above all other things, Hours are not guaranteed, hours can change dramatically and unexpectedly to no fault or your own, and there is no set location for work and living/transportation costs add up. The employer was so awful that employees unionized to attempt to gain a sliver of fairness (despite still being paid poorly). 

The type of shift you have depends solely on what the client's needs are. You could have a client who needs full care (personal care, help with meals, cleaning, home making, companionship etc.) Or your client may only require companionship  on a daily basis.

Working in home care is one of the hardest things mentally I've had to do. You not only have to deal with your own mental health, but then you're expected to deal with others mental health as well and it just becomes to much.

Also here at my branch you dont get any support from the office. Would not recommend for someone who values their mental health. And there are no set/guaranteed hours. So you could be going to 3 different clients in one day.

Excellent to work for great company, always there for both the client and their employees. 
I enjoyed my time i had with them and will definitely look for work if i ever need to go back to home care as my job. Very Balanced work/home life and easy to talk to and they worked around me as i had a second job and sometimes i was called on the spot to work but compassion home care always knew and understood that it was my job and always had my back.

This place made you feel like you were part of the team. Typical day at work include numerous of different tasks including home safety checklists, office checklists, updating policies and procedures, organizing files, and much more. Most enjoyable part of my experience here was meeting different people, seeing new faces, and giving responsibility without being under constant supervision.

The manager made promises of work and clients and when I went to the clients home it was not even close to what they had told me. No one can live there lives with the way they give you shifts. I am a guy and it was always I can’t find clients that will take a man. Worst place I ever worked for.

My typical day was ten hours. I learned to manage my time and give 100 percent to my clients. The company was very supportive as were my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was when the client passed away. The most enjoyable part of my work was making the client's days a little brighter.

I love being a home care worker because i enjoy helping people out to the best of my ability. i love to help and make sure there care is in good hands and make sure they are well looked after . maybe one of these days someone will be looking after me i would expect the same .

I am at the point now where I have developed great relationships with the company and clients I care for. I see how much they have changed and grown in the past few years. And I have to say I am very proud of such accomplishments.
