The agreements made at the interview were not honored, when I joined, a lot changed from the interview going in a few months. The wages agreed upon to go up after a few months never started. Because I agreed on a lower starter wage they changed there mind when I bought it up a few months later, I should have got it in writing. Because of this, I tried there open door policy and it made things worse to question them. Then you get put on a special short list. I heard later that this is common in the shop. The erosion of trust began soon after joining them. They had grenaded there credibility with me.  I beleive they used the pandemic as a reason to lay me off, because of the conversation when I used the so called open door policy. I heard they did this with a few others, and new machinists were hired soon after . The unprofessional personality from some top leaders, a situation that drives people away with the uncomfortable style once you have got on there wrong side, which is very easy to do as I learned. The other manager walked past me many times and did not give me the time of day. Communication from management was bad; causing a lot of the stress on the shopfloor. The  managements old school attitude style were mainly responsible for the friction and low morality at the machine shop. Its obvious that there is no loyalty to the workforce or trust so it has become now the same towards the machine shop management too.

There is only a perception of management. The plant manager walking around the plant and saying nothing positive; and with a scowl on his face constantly does not represent a managerial activity. The level of distrust for the top two managers is rooted deep. They openly don't like their work force staff. The only way to improve the work force's low morale and distrust with them would be a major PR retraining course for those 2 and hopefully it would work. There isn't a person on the floor that says a thing positive about them because of there lack of integrity. Example, at a recent townhall, they expressed and assured not to get rid of anybody during the quiet period towards the end of the year; a few days later they got rid of 3 people. If you want to work there; you must negotiate a high wage because there are many people that have not had a increase in years. One person there mentioned he hasent had one in over 12 years. They won't even give the annual COLA increase. A great place to work if you don't care for morals, ethics, or being lied to. It would have been good to work there with someone having a plan instead of winging it all the time and then getting into trouble when you try do something without instruction; and then it fails. Almost seems as if the top 2 managers are trying to make it fail. I am not unhappy they let me go. The CEO seems to be a great person though.

The job description at the interview turned out different from what my actual duties became day to day. What I witnessed was senior machinists get preferential treatment, and most other staff are treated with disrespect, a very common knowledge on the floor. A toxic environment to work in after a while. It is questionable how much the CEO really knows how the Concorde plant is run. Low morale. Town hall meetings are only meant to be used to convey minimal good news and are usually called when some bad news is on the cards. Staff should not ask questions of concern if they dont want to be answered in a negative tone. This is a cause of nobody wanting to use the perceived open door policy, because if he gets you alone in his office; you won't have a chance; and in the meeting everyone has become too cautious to raise questions. Despite all the negativity, the general workforce were a great set of guys to work with and are a consolation when compared to the management.

As a passed and one of very many supervisors I can attest to the comments above. (Average life span of a supervisor in that plant is between 3 weeks and up to a year if you are really thick skinned.) The managment are more interested in pushing out quantity and numbers instead of quality. Ship at any cost. A lot of the desisions and mistakes they make upstairs are cleverly blamed and past onto anyone else on the shopfloor, supervisors are the main target for this tho. They make deadline promises they can't keep and inflict the stress directly to the shopfloor again. FYI- I have first hand proof that the 5 star comment above (tight parking), was written by a machinist that was convinced by the plant manager to write; so that he could offset the negative comments on this sight. Wondering what he was given to do so.

I have worked for Concorde just over 5 years. This company is AMAZING. They are constantly giving back to their employees. The CEO is on the floor almost everyday and knows every employee by name. She even wishes people a happy birthday. What other CEO can you say does that.

Every year the company puts a lot of money into parties involving employees and their families. We have two Christmas Parties, a company family picnic, golf tournament, a social committee that does lunches and raffles and much more!

Nothing but great things to say about working here - they have supported me throughout my entire tenure and continue to support me day after day.

I been there a lot of years. It was a good company to work for but now they don't give wage increase to anybody again. And they downgraded the health plan to the worst so far, not the same cover as good as before. Cheaper for them and worse for us. And you make the new bonus plan more difficult for workers to get but easyer for corporate bosses and shareholders to get. They also just change make the RRSP plan worse for the workers to. Not worth it for the treatment you have when working. Look somewhere else.

I am a fairly recent hire of under three years, it has been a very positive working experience for me. Management is very fair and knowledgeable as well helping resolve issues in a timely manner. The work is a fairly different  style of machining but the co workers and management really help overcome obstacles. The air conditioning is colder than most shops in the city. All in all great place to work, I would highly recommend employment here!

Besides the air quality, there were no stressful times.

Great. Work life balance. Felt very appreciated by management

10hour day doing all kinds of jobs

A "click" in the managment that you cannot get through to. If you have a concern, no matter how legit, they make you feel like you aren't complying and seem to be a nuisance to them. They make you feel guilty like a troublemaker or something. They treat the staff in the shop in a way that they don't feel very welcome. Most newcomers don't stay long.
