I worked for more than a year in he Calgary office. One of the most stressful and worst workplace cultures you could possibly imagine. Management lies to your face all the time about raise, training and your personal development. Management appreciates people who cut corners to save money. The concept of work ethic and integrity does not apply here. Making money at all costs , including safety, is what makes management most happy. I have seen at times student were sent to do jobs that required an engineer to do just to save money.( and ofcourse the client noticed and they lost that client forever).Project managers offload their managerial duties onto engineers and technicians while spend hours in the gym and coffee meetings. There is no quality control. Instead of sharing how the project went wrong, Managers hide their mistakes to avoid bad publicity. There is no knowledge sharing. People keep their knowledge to themselves as a source of power. There is maybe one lunch and learn session every 6 month. They often ask you to perform a job right upon the start of your work without giving you proper training again because they want you to make money for them asap. Management’s preferential treatment of his close friends at work is too obvious and disgusting. The company is losing more and more projects due to all the reasons I explained above. I have seen so many good people either leave or being laid off because they confronted the management about these issues.You will not have a future here unless you are a friend of someone in the upper management but even then would you like working in such environment?

Pros:
-Corrpro will pay for ONLY some courses, bare minimum to complete job: NACE, H2S, ATV, and First Aid tickets

-Caring Coworkers (Though majority have left or been laid off)

-Double OT in some remote offices (High possibility this does not exist anymore 2018 onwards)

Cons:
-Base compensation is far below industry standards.

-Umbrella policies result in large variation between quality of work/life between offices - Employees at remote offices earn and receive same pay scale/benefits/vacation as those working in larger centres with more opportunities.

-Extremely minimal development opportunities, proactive/smart/engaged employees are limited in career advancement. Office Mgmt rejects most requests for development.

-Scrutinous policies for performance metrics.

-No work/life balance, expect to work long hours, with the inability to request time off without reprimand. High stress/low reward environment.

-Management structure is incredibly inefficient. Poorly trained managers. 

-Family/relatives run office (you may think that is a positive.... but IMO creates toxic environment as complaints/concerns not held in confidence. Blatant favoritism displayed. Petty gossip common. Decisions pre-determined without employee input at 'home')
 
-At the end of the day the company is managed by a spreadsheet. f the numbers are below set forecast, managers start breathing down your neck micromanaging, loss of benefits, layoffs (irregardless of work load and backlog)

-Extremely high turnover rate. Employees rarely stay past 2 years.

Would not recommend to anyone.

There are four divisions of this company, all working out of a single compound, and they work very poorly with one another.
I had managers from other divisions come and tell me I wasn't doing my job, and had to direct them to my own manager just to have it cleared up that what they wanted from me was something that their own division was responsible for.

The shop foreman would go through the engineer's drafts and change the specs to what he was familiar with. The materials people would pull the incoming shipments before they could reach the inventory control guy, who couldn't do his job properly because of it.

When I would suggest ideas to the foreman, he would direct me to the floor manager. When I suggested them to the floor manager, he'd direct me to the foreman. Between the two of them, they would choke off any suggestions without consideration.

I was the forklift operator while I was there. People would get too close to the forklift, pay no attention to the forklift, cross the path of the forklift, putting their lives at risk again and again and again. While I was always careful not to hurt anyone, I learned that a couple of weeks after I left the company, someone ran over and killed the yard cat. (that's not an industrial term, it's common practice to keep a cat to patrol for mice.)

Work days were consistent and work organised with the day end goal set out for us. A person quickly learns that normal practices have to be ignored when changing from client to client and whether we agree with their decisions or not, their wish is our command. Upper management seems to be somewhat closed minded when considering workers issues and there is a feeling of not really being supported by the upper hierarchy. The ground crews I've worked with are great people. Teamwork at its best. This is the most pleasurable part of this job. The people that I get to work with. The hardest part of this job is (as put to me word for word) having to "bow down" to the clients representatives regardless of whether procedures were correct or voicing our opinion on problems.

Im extremely disappointed with Corrpro The team was unresponsive, and it took weeks to get a simple issue resolved. The communication was poor, and I was constantly left in the dark about the status of my requests. The quality of work is subpar, and it's clear that the company is more interested in making a quick profit . Than actual results 

I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the consistent neglect and lack of attention to detail have left a sour taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Corrpro to anyone. There are far better options out there that actually care about their customers. One star is even too generous for this company

Management is terrible, there is no guidance on anything. Work life balance is awful. Management gets upset if you book vacation. No room to grow. I got more guidance from employees in the field than management. Field employees have negative attitude with every job. Management and leadership do not care about safety even though the safety department pushes safety as #1. 

I can count on one hand how many current employees are truthfully amazing to work with and really try to help you grow. Overall, I will never return to this company nor will I recommend it. Too many red flags. 

The co-workers were great, but the work lifestyle was constantly be ready to go to a new job for weeks at a time.  Some days were easy and others non-stop work for 10+ hours. Sometimes it was hectic cause it was such a large company our project managers would change from job to job. I learned a lot about current, resistance, electricity, and how to protect structures from it. I truly enjoyed the work and people, being able to get along with the crew while getting work done made any job much more enjoyable.

I've been with this company since 2015 and it's been a really good start to my career. I've had gone from material handler to a Construction Labourer. I've had the pleasure working alongside many project managers/ engineers/ foremans and other staff. The only downside is being away from home just like any other job. Fortunately the ground crews were hard working and all round good group of guys. If you have an interest in cathodic protection and AC mitigation I would recommend working there. 

They favor Saskatchewan guys and put then on contract and treat them better than their full time guys. The full time Alberta guys have to get everything ready for a job and drive trucks and trailers and the Saskatchewan guys just go to the hotel or home on their travel days and leave 2 or 3 guys to load trailers or unload trailers, clean trucks. If they are missing anything for a job they blame the Alberta guys
