I was very excited about working here. But became aware after I started, it was very hard to please management in any way. No appreciation, no compassion and felt belittled frequently. I only stayed there because I loved and became friends with the dogs that stayed and came there to play daily. Don't be fooled though, you need to pay attention all the time.
It was very disappointing as I lost my job, because of current global situation. They only employed staff back that were favoured by management. I worked there for a few years, so seniority doesn't matter to them at all. Very unprofessional and did not care to respond to me after I was laid off. I had questions that were not answered. 
Don't judge this kennel by its appearance, great location, but it has issues behind the scenes. However, the dogs love it!

Very loud and dirty job, very physical and be prepared to work in the elements. High turnover rate. New management team have 0 dog experience and lack training employees resulting in an unsafe environment for staff and dogs. Terrible owners, terrible management and very run down facility. Owners are rude and condescending and often make unnecessary changes without communicating to the rest of the team which lead to penalizing staff and wrongful dismissals. No communication within the management team, they do not support the rest of the staff and often would sit behind the desk.

Every day you do exactly what you hope and expect from a job like this. The dogs become like family to you during your stay. Every day you are blessed by puppy smiles and wagging tails.  Management girls are angels and the staff will become like friends and welcome you in with open arms always there to help. The facility it’s self has so many amazing things and activities for the pups boarding so in result you always have fun. 

I really enjoyed working here! The staff, clients and animals were tons of fun. Don’t be fooled though, you will not be “snuggling with cute puppies” all day. This job is not for the faint of heart, it’s actually very physical, mentally and emotionally challenging. You need to be paying attention ALL THE TIME. You also need to be ready to spring into action. Pay was okay, benefits were good, discount was awesome and we got a free bag of dog food every other month which was a plus! Overall I would recommend working here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The owners are more focussed on profit than care for the last few years.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is very cliquey. If you don't fit in you are excluded by other staff. Facilities are old and need so much maintenance and updating.

Over worked, under appreciated, asked for to do unsafe tasks, over booked, stressful, unsanitary - even for the type of environment, owners(of company) were often rude and condescending, co-workers/management were often rude or dismissive, very much a cliche environment

This job is tough. Very physical, rushed, and hard work. Way more cleaning of kennels than working with dogs. There are too many dogs and not enough people so it’s just a constant race to get them out and back in again. They even had me grooming with zero experience. It was not nearly as fun as I expected. Just too big and needed more staff. 

The job was great for the most part. Pre-covid it was long days (usually 10 hours) and lots of moving around but the people who worked there were great and it was a bonus getting to see the dogs. It is very much a working environment though, don’t expect to just cuddle dogs all day. There is LOTS of cleaning involved and constantly rotating groups of dogs to let them outside. 

I couldn’t ask for a more accommodating and understanding management in a workplace. They have gone above and beyond what any workplace I’ve ever been at has done to make sure that I’m enjoying the job I’m doing and to make sure that I’m not overwhelmed. All of the managers are so kind, understanding and helpful. They go above just being a manager and helped me on a personal level as well.

Loved working with dogs everyday but the owners are the worst people I have ever worked for. I have never felt more under valued in my life. The owner and management treat their employees awful. I would never reccomend this company to anyone. 
Way over worked, and no appreciation.
