Honestly, pretty brutal. However, if you are passionate about teaching vulnerable people, no matter the cost to yourself, this may be the place for you. Staff turnover is a continuous issue. Fortunately, you get to meet all kinds of new people. Unfortunately, they usually end up leaving. Intentionally and unintentionally, always understaffed, as the work expectations are unrealistic for most. The instructor’s job security is dependent on class size, so it may not be for you if you seek employment stability. In private education, budgets and profit take precedent. You will be stressed. The majority of the staff have little to no procedural training, leading to unsafe working environments, communication breakdowns, and under-developed curriculum, as staff are constantly leaving the company.  The pay is below average. They market themselves to prospective employees as a family company, but that really just means rampant nepotism. The highest positions in the company are reserved for family and friends. Decisions are made purely for profit and the students and staff are the ones that suffer. Make no mistake, you will be an underling hired to do the bidding of upper management while they delegate to middle management from their home office. There is a very clear hierarchy and you will be reminded of that. But if you love sharing knowledge, or working with statistically vulnerable individuals, this could be the type of job you’re looking for. 

Given that it is a College, you ultimately get to know the students and, in turn, their lives.  You must be able to be personable enough that they will open up to you and work with you, instead of pushing you away, which helps no one.  This job gives me the opportunity to help students by developing a relationship with them and  encouraging them to do their best.  I try to speak to them in the halls, send them reminders via email or have them pop by my office to discuss things if I'm feeling they've been falling off track.  If we have a good "relationship", then there is a lot more good that will come of it, as opposed to me 'just doing my job'.  There are many, many different facets to this job, so there's rarely a dull moment, but it keeps the days filled with things to do, assignments to stay on top of, lots of go-go-go tasks that can be easily forgotten if you're not organized.  I enjoy the environment very much, and all my co-workers are very friendly and I feel comfortable with each of them.

This is an incredible place to work. From the moment I was hired, the experience has been more than pleasant. I dealt with HR directly, and they were incredibly flexible and understanding, and thorough when going through the offer. 

When onboarding and training started, the college was right there to make sure I got an in-depth orientation and understood most, if not all, aspects of my new position before beginning on my own. 

The culture at CTS Canadian Career College is unmatched. The staff is so friendly, personable, and great to work with, and management - oh wow! While there is that clear hierarchy in the workplace, management works just as much, if not more, as the rest of the employees. You can tell that they really care about their staff and the success of everyone as a team. 

Due to unfortunate circumstance (personal) I had to take time off and work on matters in my personal life. If I didn't have this going on, I would still be working with the campus. They give people the opportunity to grow with no judgement. They know learning requires errors and very understanding and always there to help when you need them, This is a very faced paced and high demand role. You need to have organization skills like a pro. But my days always flew by in a snap of a finger and I loved engaging with the students and eventually becoming a part of someone's success.

It is never a dull moment at work. It has challenges, but can be fun as well. I am always learning new ways to improve myself and I am learning lots about my students. Management is super supportive and they believe in making sure our health and well being is in check. The hardest part of my job would be trying to get the students engaged/motivated in their programs. Working with my team as well as the students is the most enjoyable part of my job.

Coworkers are great. 
Most of the staff and head management are related

Tiring, long days. Sometimes the time drags, other times it feels like there's not enough time to get what they want accomplished

CTS has truly been a dream for me. My supervisor is truly a mentor; very encouraging, personable, professional, supportive, interested in the betterment of my skills/abilities. Every person on staff is wonderful to work with. There are many opportunities to delve deeper into my area of expertise, if I want to dedicate some of my time to growth. This company takes care of the people that are employed by them. Truly a family and I feel very lucky to be a part of it. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The students make it a fulfilling job bit carefull some are very 2 faced.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A lot of tasks required in minimal time fram and not paid any OT to complete tasks.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Quite Toxic between Instructors and Administrative employees 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Theory or skills 8hrs a day 30min unpaid lunch

This is such an incredible place to work. With so many opportunities for growth, this company really values it's employees. You don't feel like you are working for the college, but with the college. Student success is such a priority here, so it can be really rewarding work.
