Great Job. I enjoy working hard and getting paid for how hard you work. I like the team atmosphere and the think safe mentality.
Although it should be mentioned that they should probably work on making the work place gender neutral atmosphere. They should create a more professional work place by getting rid of the swim suit calendars, indecent pin-ups and stripper magnets, because it makes Christian workers, married men and female employees as well as EMR representatives that enter the dog house feel very uncomfortable.

Working in the oil patch has its ups and downs no matter where you work

Never had an issue all the guys and gals were always good to me

Typical day on a service rig as I was a roughneck

A typical day at work was most enjoyable when having good people at work to joke around with as long as work was met to standards. I learned quite a bit with the ones who trained me, and the management was just as reliable. The job was physically straining at times which made it one of the hardest parts of the job. But was always excited to start the next day with a clean state of mind and ready for something new each time.

In the morning i would pick up the crew and head out to the rig.Once we get everything started the crew would start to kill the well with kill fluid and once the well was dead we would stand the rig,bop up and start to pull rods once rods and pump was out of the hole we would change the pump run it all back in and rig out.It usually takes about 10-14 hours to do a normal pump change but it varies depending on the type of job we are doing that day.

I strongly suggest to get in writing what you will be paid hourly prior to relocating to any division with CWC as I was promised by email 28.70/ hour but was being paid 22.0 hour for almost a month before I took time out of the day to speak to administration about this error.

They always seem to have work other than break-up. Lot’s of equipment and better than other Service Rig companies in Grande Prairie.

Great for green guys starting out. Recommended to my younger brother and he was safe the entire time. Wages are consistent with CAODC. I’ll be back when the work and wages come up again.

Good company, only reason I left was because of spring break up and my kids back home. I'd still be there if not. I really like my crew and management. They all are in the same boat work hard and get things done in a timely manner but safety always comes first.

Decent company, when there’s work. High hourly rate, 24-4 shift not home much but pay cheque’s are sweet! There was a 4$ an hour rig bonus per hour on top of my hourly rate. Lunches brought in almost every second day. Wicked benefits best I’ve had at a service rig company. Will go back if economy picks up. 

Absolutely the biggest joke of a company. The people and the wages. Keep your expectations to the lowest level.  Regional managers lack intelligence and competency. They also have no idea of what is legally acceptable. If your looking to create a lawsuit and win,  this is the company to do it with.

CWC well services provided me whith my first oilfield job and put me on a good crew with co-workers who were able to train me and help me adjust to the fast paced oilfield environment. would recommend for anybody looking to become a roughneck.
