Worked here for some time and myself and some colleagues were bullied by management. We eventually resigned. I understand some colleagues in other departments also had similar treatment.

My manager actually insulted me/verbally abused me when I was in a room full of students.

The job itself was really enjoyable and rewarding and had management been different I would have stayed much longer.

Salary very low for the responsibility of the job post. 

Highly unprofessional environment at times. Also witnessed racism from management.

Looking back I undoubtedly could have taken the department to the cleaners due to the way I was treat. They are sneaky, they ask you if you are in Unison at interview.

Avoid!

As this was work experience I worked under the Secretary learning difference skills and working as a team.  I did filling all so word processing documents, relaying information to other colleague and visitors.
I enjoyed the experience and the staff working there which was mainly management.
The hardest part of the job was being new and getting used to routines as this was new to me at the time.  but this was many years ago and i have got more experience in other jobs since then.
The most enjoyable was getting to now new people and new skills .

Lovely approachable management, encouraged to improve meals, very busy place to work

Keeping time and motion and fitting training in

Good working environment with a varied culture 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The department I work in is full on with no time for mistakes

A typical day would involve working in the community teaching ICT. 

I learned how to teach digital photography.

The management staff were brilliant and card about their staff. We were kept informed of developments as well as college procedures. 

There was nothing hard about the job.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to see students learning and progressing.

Just go to work, do the job, feed back any issues and leave

Calderdale college is an inclusive and flexible environment to work in,  team working skills are fantastic. Positive and comfortable workplace to work

Calderdale college was and ok place to work from time to time alot things started to change and you had to adapt to the changes very quickly however there was good co workers to work with and great to work in a team, and enjoyed helping the students and teaching them knew things.

My managers in the apprenticeship depapertment are fantastic, they don't try to micro manage you and allow you to get on with your job your way.
They support well where needed and are costantly looking to help you with CPD

good college to be at with excellent staff your always learning new things and the staff never give up on you they are always looing to help you to succeed in life and in work

I did my Level 1 Art and Design at Calderdale College and i really enjoyed myself. I did many things; i created a dress from scratch and took part in a fashion show that the college put on. I also did ceramics which i really liked doing.
